Chapter 6 by redrpkdragon redrpkdragon

Do you indulge her request?

Sure, why not

While just eating her is certainly tempting, you decided that simply eating this curious little gemstone of a human would just be a waste of entertainment.

You quietly crawl out of your hole in the roof and crawl just close enough for the dim light to illuminate your form, you can tell she was intimidated, you don't blame her, after all even at your races smallest they can be half the hight of a human, and if you can be proud of one thing, it is that you are most certainly not small.

"By Arachnia, you're larger than I thought you would be, well ummm... So how are you?" The shaman begins figiting with her staff.

"Cut the idle chatter shaman, you are alive because you are interesting, but I can change my mind." The shaman let's out an audible gulp, you smile internally. Humans are so much more fun when you can play with them unparalized.

"Oh uhhh yea sure. Well actually I'm here because I wanted to offer ask you if you'd be interested in becoming my familiar. You see I'm a shaman wildtamer who worships Arachnia and I get pretty hefty bonuses if my familiar is an arachnid, and i know I could get like a regular giant spider or something but you know your kind is reletivly new and apparently hard to tame, but I heard that there was one that had weird attack patterns and preferences, so I figured you might be special or something."

You have to take a second to process what this idiotic human just said, she was right in the fact that one of there kind had not yet been made a familiar, because the shamans who tried all tried to use **** conscription, which is time consuming, and when fighting one of your kind time is your enemy. She is also right that as far as you know, you posses a different mindset than most of your sisters. You had to give the Shaman credit, she did her homework.

"Hmm.... You certainly are a funny one, and seeing as you came her just for little ol me. Maybe I will consider your offer, you say you worship our goddess, do you posses her charm?"

"Oh! Um... Yeah I do, here." The shaman pulls a necklace off her neck that was previously hidden behind under her garbs, which would make sense, your experience has shown that spiders are not typically appreciated by the humanoid races. She sets it down between the two of you, and you extend a single leg, dragging it two you. You can tell a soon as you see it that it is authentic, and a quick check of it's destructibility (you tried to stab it) showed that it is I'm fact bound to the user rather than being aquired through trade or robbery. You slide the artifact back to her, and she puts it back on. She is now clearly more comfortable with your presence.

"Very good, had you been lying to me I would have killed you on the spot. Now shaman, what are the conditions of this contract."

"Oh wow... Well thanks to listening to me." The shaman smiles and releases the tension in her body, clearly she had not fully expected to get this far in the conversation. " Well in these types of contracts the conditions are set by the two parties, but what I'm offering is a deal where you become my familiar, allowing me to summon and unsummon you at will, you won't be able to harm me, and requires you to protect me to the best of your ability, in exchange you gain the ability to leave this cave, we share exp from things that we kill, and you keep exp even if you die as long as Im also alive, it let's you leave this cave without being smited by the admin, an it gives you access to evolutionary paths normally hidden to your species."

You had to admit, it was a tempting deal, and clearly she spent a while thinking of terms that gave you as much free will as possible while still ensuring her protection. You would guess many animals bound by the shaman did not get such flattering deals. You had one problem with it though

"Hmm, clearly you came with the intent of being fair, that is good, however I cannot accept the summoning conditions, if I am to be made your familiar then I demand that I be able to decide when I am and am not summoned." The shaman furrows her brow, pondering my condition

"Hmmm, actually I just thought of something, it's a bit unorthodox but it's not uncommon for summons to be disoriented when summoned because being unsummoned puts the familiar in a sort of stasis, meaning giving you control over it isn't possible. But what if instead of that you had a "unsummoned state" that would give you the size of an actual spider, then you could have control over it, and it'd be acceptable to the admins safe zone regulations."

You are impressed, the shaman is more both clever and determined than you had originally thought, of course I could always still eat her, it would be pretty easy with how relaxed she is.

So is it a deal, or a meal?
