Chapter 10 by tallywhacker tallywhacker

well, that changed his opinion. How?

Silent treatment

You spend the next several minutes fussing over Tom: getting him to bed, giving him water, making him comfortable. All the while, your anxiety persists, making your fidget and glance around. After a while, Tom closes his eyes, either to sleep or ignore you better.
"Okay, I'll go get something for dinner now; just get some rest." You fly off, eager to escape the situation. It should be fine, leaving Tom alone. He can't really leave, unless he kills himself. He shouldn't do that; that probably wont happen.
It isn't until your scouring the mountainside for prey before you ask the all important question
"Let's see: Giant Beetle, Crag Lizard, I could maybe trip that Minotaur. What do humans eat?" You've only really caught some glimpses of food from adventurers inhaling whatever they find in their pockets for slight buffs. You're tempted to just get the beetle since you'll like it the best, but you can't risk falling further out of favor with Tom.
"With his aversion to killing, he might not even eat animals." you pout at the thought of a plant-exclusive diet. Looking around at the tufts of weeds spiking out from between rocks, you can't even tell what's edible. Maybe you could make a paste from the beetle's stomach contents; it's mostly berries, well aggregate drupes.
Okay, you kill the beetle because you'd keep thinking about it as long as it's there, so you're dinner's set. The minotaur will probably fall on it's own with how it totters on those little hooves, so you sweep in and get some XP out of the inevitable. That's all you get out of it since his remains are gross. The stench alone forces you out of that airspace.

What do you find next?
