She Does, That Night

Hours past and you heard nothing from Bethany, this was a bit surprising but at the same time let you catch up on other things. Later that day, just as the sun dropped behind the mountains you heard your door open. You raised your head from the papers on your desk and saw Bethany peer her head over the stairs, "Excuse me Warden, is this a good time?" She asked a bit timidly,

"Ah Bethany, I was curious if you were going to arrive." You said as you finished signing yet another paper,

"Sorry for coming up late, Varric likes to talk." She replied while rubbing her arm a bit,

"Yeah I'm aware of the phenomenon." You said with a little chuckle before holding out your hand towards your couch, "Take a seat, please."

"Thank you," She said with a nod before sitting down,

"So, you needed to talk with me. What about?" You asked as you got up and walked to the front of your desk leaning against it,

"Yes!" She exclaimed a bit relieved, "I'm kind of a junior member of the order."

"Okay," You said with a small nod,

"The thing is, due to all the recent issue's I haven't been able to talk about...what happens after." She said her cheeks once again turning rosy,

"Ah, so I'm guessing your curious about the nightmares, right?" You assumed,

"No not those, I was told all about those. I heard that they get worse in a blight or if one is coming." She replied,

"Yeah, that's true. " You said with a little shudder, "I've never had worse dreams then when I first became a Warden. Dreaming of the Archdemon was truly terrifying." You said while rubbing your eyes. You then shook your head moving away from your memories, "So if it's not about them, then i'm guessing its something physical."

"Yes, exactly." She said standing up, "Its-"

"It's the eating right?" You said with a little chuckle, "You should know that's very normal. Almost every Warden's appetite changes."

"Oh, that's...good to know." She said while taking another step forward, "But that's not what I was talking about." You raised your brow and she took a slow breath, "I've noticed that..." She said very softly, "That I am much more...lustful." She said looking up at you.

You looked at her for a moment before letting out a laugh, "Bethany, that's nothing to be concerned about." You said wiping your eye from a tear starting to form, "That is something that happens to some of the Wardens."

Bethany watched you with a little frown before sighing as you explained things, "Really, you aren't lying to me are you?"

"No, of course not." You replied a little surprised, "Wait, exactly how much do you know of the taint?"

"Little actually, due to everything that has happened I haven't had the luxury of being able to study up." She replied now fully interested in what you were saying,

"Well you do know that we share the taint that the darkspawn do." She let out a nod, "Well the darkspawn are surprisingly like us. Yet they do things much more frequently than us, such as eating and reproducing." You explained,

"Wait the darkspawn...reproduce?" She said a bit disgusted,

"Indeed they do, though not exactly like you and I." You replied thinking back to your time in Orzammar, "During the blight I got to see first hand what they do."

"And that would be?" She asked though her voice seemed to point out that she didn't fully want to know,

"Well they'd, they capture some women often dwarven women. They would then impregnate them, eventually having many darkspawn children, these women would turn into demonic creatures. Their sole purpose to sate the lust of the darkspawn and keep their numbers up." You said while shaking your head. Bethany looked at you her eyes a bit wide and her face a bit green, "Sorry, the point I was trying to make was, since we carry the darkspawn taint our bodies often start to act like them. We will eat more, feel the need to reproduce often and so forth. However since we aren't full darkspawn our actual fertility is quite low. Odds of a Warden being able to conceive is about one in a hundred, and if you have another Warden trying with them that drops to about one in a thousand."

"Wow, that's...that's a bit odd. I'm not sure what to say to that." Bethany admitted,

"Nothing really to say," You replied with a shrug, "Its what we are, nothing can change that. Though I recommend that you try and find someone to sate yourself. Either that or find a few hours a day for personal use." You replied simply, "I'm not blind to knowing that certain...thoughts, can distract you."

Bethany let out a little giggle, "Perhaps that's why I didn't make any progress when I was given a moment to study." He smile soon faded however, "Though I'm not sure I can just bring myself to approach random men. I don't think I have that in me. And handling things...personally doesn't usually help."

"You felt a little stirring in your pants as she spoke, "Well Bethany, if you'd like I can help. My quarters as you can tell are quite private and I'd hate to see another Warden in distress." You said with a smile while eyeing her body up and down.
