What the Duce?

Seems the strands of fate have a sick joke in mind...

"OK, who are YOU lot?!?" You call out over the assembled ghouls and pull up the status information overlay. Names and status icons flicker to life over the heads of the assembled horde of ghouls and you see...

And so on. By some twist of fate every last ghoul pack on the second Z-level of Cassowary's Crypt had spawned in the EXACT SAME PLACE.

The Cassowary's Crypt dungeon is HUGE on the upper levels, you have only ever met ONE of the other pack leaders and that was YEARS ago, and at the time she was running for her un-life from a band of twelfth level adventurers and you didn't have much time to talk before a hail of consecrated arrows killed you both.

You can't help but laugh at this sudden reversal of fortune, a ghoul's main strength is in numbers and mob tactics, because while each time an adventurer resists the Ghoul's Touch ability they become immune to it for 24 hours, that only applies to that Ghoul.

"Quick, does everyone know the red '**** chamber' off the hall with the spike traps?!?" You call out, fearful that if you let this opportunity slip away it will be gone forever. The room in question is a large one, kind of close to the center of the Z-Level and generally unoccupied, though there is a 5% chance each time the dungeon loads that there is a 'Torturer' micro-boss there with a human commoner who the heroes have to escort back out of the dungeon for an achievement needed for the dungeon's quest string. There are a total of 20 '**** chambers' on the first five levels and the 'Torturer' and prisoner always spawn in one of them, but it's even odds WHICH they spawn in, which is good for you because you have met the 'Torturer' and he is a level 12 human assassin who doesn't like visitors, not even from his own 'side'.

There is a general susurrus of assent that they do in fact know that room and you rub your hands gleefully. "Great! Every time you spawn from now on head for that room!" You chortle.

"What about the Torturer?" The one pack leader you have already met, a sorceress by class, and apparently demoted to 4th Pack leader, she WAS 2nd, asks you with a note of trepidation. "He's been known to MK." There is also a susurrus of agreement to this statement, but you easily brush that aside.

"So what? Firstly: I doubt he could take all of us and if one of us killed him it would be worth a level up right there! Secondly: there is only a 5% chance he will be in that room on any given spawn and I for one am willing to toss that D20 and hope I don't get a one. Thirdly: even if he WERE able to take us all down, who cares? What's the difference between him doing it and the adventurers?" You expound forcefully.

There is a sudden chorus of "AYE!" and "Hear Hear!" as the groups begin seeing the merits of your plan, when you spot a suspicious distortion from up the hallway.

"NINJA!" You shout, pointing, amazed that even one of those hideously fast advanced rogues got this far in this fast, and everyone runs in opposite directions.

This only means you all die tired as the Class 27 incendiary bomb explodes in the midst of the gathered packs, taking out not only all of you but a good 70 feet of the dungeon's structure.
