Chapter 11 by PhoenixAuthor PhoenixAuthor

Dean is recruited by the X-Men... again.

Recruit

I woke up and found Lorna gone. But I could sort of... feel a message from her in my head. It was a little trippy, actually but I could sense her message all the same.

Hey, Dean. Sorry for heading out so suddenly, but I figured you’d want to know. Dad just mindwiped all the X-Men. You’re being recruited today, so hang in there, and remember, Emma Frost.

I sighed. Then, I climbed out of bed and got dressed for the day, then headed downstairs. I turned on the TV and let it play for a while until there was a knock. I went to open the door and found two women standing there. One was very familiar, the other wasn’t.

The familiar one was Jean Grey, and and the unfamiliar one was, well, unfamiliar.

“Hi. My name is Jean Grey, and this is Laura Kinney.” Jean smiled at me politely. It hurt a little seeing the way she didn’t recognize me.

“Um, hi. I’m Dean Wayne.” I smiled politely back. Neither of the two X-Women were dressed in combat suits. Laura Kinney was a smoking hot brunette with a gorgeously fit and toned body, with more physical prowess than Jean. Both women wore tank tops that clung to their incredible melons. Jean’s outclassed Laura’s easily, but Laura’s were still incredible, which gives you an idea just how busty Jean Grey actually is.

“Pleasure to meet you. So... we’re here because we discovered you’re a mutant.” Jean smiled. Laura gave me an apologetic half-smile.

“I’m a what?” I pretended to be shocked.

“A mutant. It means you have a special gene that gives you a certain ability.” Jean explained.

“Are you guys Feds?” I asked ‘nervously’. Laura laughed heartily, and I noticed her tits bounce.

“No, Dean. We’re mutants, too. In fact we’re here to take you to a boarding school that specializes in mutants.” Laura said kindly, and put her hand on my thigh. I looked up at her and at Jean.

“Where are your parents?” Jean asked.

“They’re uh... they don’t care about me. Tell me more about this school.” I said. Laura made a sympathetic noise.

“Lots of kids are scorned by their parents when their mutant gene expresses itself. Have you noticed any odd changes within you?” Laura asked.

“Well... people are kind of... open to suggestion? After long enough close to me, they sort of become... helpful.” I shrugged. Laura leaned back casually, but I saw the panic narrow in her eyes. Jean backed up, too.

“Mind control?” Laura mouthed. Jean scanned my mind. I felt her echo in my head. Fortunately, all the stuff that could reveal this wasn’t our first meeting was locked in the inhibitor.

Jean shook her head.

“So, your powers appear to simply be persuasion. It looks like you emit a small amount of a chemical that can alter brain chemistry to make people temporarily susceptible.” Jean concluded.

“Damn, you’re really smart.” I grinned.

“I’m a Doctor.” Jean smiled. Laura nodded.

“Ready to go? Or do you wanna pack anything?” Laura asked me.

“I’m good.” I sighed, and the two X-Women led me to a sleek sports car. I guess Magneto didn’t replace the X-Jet that got shredded in Siberia. They claimed the front seat while I got in the back. I noticed Laura cranked down all the windows so they weren’t locked in a car with my chemical warfare.

A message came in from Lorna.

Hi, Dean. You’re doing well, they don’t suspect a thing. But Dad says to keep your emotions in check. Good job!

I mentally sighed and focused on the drive. It was a long drive, and eventually Laura pulled over at a gas station. She climbed out, and Jean turned to me.

“You all good back there?” Jean asked.

“No, it’s getting really hot, what with the windows down.” I huffed. Jean looked at me a little warily.

“You’re right, I guess. I mean... promise not to use your powers on us?” Jean demanded. I nodded.

“I swear.” I said, and wiped sweat off my brow. Jean bit her lip. She leaned towards me and put her hands on my temples for a more invasive scan of my head. When she was satisfied, she leaned back.

“Alright, well, you can have my seat then. I prefer sleeping in the back anyways.” Jean said. We traded spots, and Jean got comfy in the backseat. Laura climbed in, and glanced at me.

“Hey, L. Close the windows. I did a mental scan, and he’s not going to use his powers on us.” Jean vouched for me. Laura glanced at me warily, and rolled up the windows. I kept myself in check until Jean fell asleep. Then I slowly started releasing my chemical into the vehicle. I was so much weaker with this new inhibitor, but I realized abruptly Laura had super-smell, as she turned to me, and her hand sprouted claws, but I held up my hands.

“Stop.” I ordered and she immediately did.

“Laura, you barely even notice the chemical in the air.” I said, and Laura nodded slowly.

“So. Laura, are you single?” I asked curiously. She nodded.

“Yeah, I am. I guess I’m really intimidating to most men.” Laura shrugged.

“Well, I think you’re beautiful.” I smiled.

“Aww, thanks.” Laura giggled.

———

Jean stirred awake when she heard Laura giggle. Since when does the fierce X-23 giggle? Jean cracked open her eyes and saw her and Dean talking animatedly. Jean smelled something a little sweet in the air, but didn’t pay it much mind as she tried to hear what Dean was saying.

“So, what can you tell me about this school?” he asked. Basic question. Jean’s terror struck when Laura answered.

“It’s great! All the people there are super hot, male and female. The classes are a little lame, but power training’s cool. I got trained by Wolverine, and he made me so damn wet. He just oozes masculinity.” Laura revealed without a thought. Jean was terrified now, because Dean has obviously taken control of Laura Kinney. There was that sweet smell again. Why was she worried again? Because the smell was Dean! Oh, god, Dean was making Jean feel like this? Wow.
