Pry and figure out why you were a target

The hell? Did I upset someone important?

“Oh no please, it’s no trouble. Tell me and perhaps I can help!” you say smiling politely.

“Ugh, here I go dragging people in” says the brunette. “If we’re gonna spill our problems to you, we should at least introduce ourselves. I’m Red, and this is my twin sister Skye.”

“Hello.” Skye says doing a small wave while still hiding behind her sister.

“Long story short, this big crime boss guy roped us into doing work for him. Now we’re kind of stuck paying him or doing jobs for him. If we don’t… well-“ Red looks down at the ground with a frustrated expression. “It sucks!”

“And what did he have you doing with a dwarf?” you ask curious at your involvement.

“Rob her. I guess she just got a big pay for a guild job so he wanted us to take that. Said if she was alone, we should kill her and take it.” You try your best to hide your surprise at hearing how these relatively polite girls were going to try and **** you. Skye seems to sense your concern as she says.

“N-not that we were going to hurt her, we don’t kill. All we needed was her gold right sis?”

“Exactly” says Red. “We don’t even need to rob her, just need enough gold to fool Geadrin.” An idea forms in your head as you inquire further into the girls.

“Out of curiosity, if ya had to kill, would you?” This seems to confuse the twins as you clarify. “I have a big job coming up myself! One that involves killing many bad folks who would see this town burned. If I invited you along, could ya kill them? Might solve your gold problem.” Red thinks for a moment.

“We’ll do it!” Skye shouts from behind her sister.

“Woah don’t go promising people things like that Skye!” Red says shaking her sisters’ shoulders.

“I-i-im Se-rii-ous” Skye says as her voice is disrupted by the shaking. Red stops shaking her so she can explain. “Remember what I said about doing good in the world sis? This is it! We can help people instead of working for that cruel man.” Red considers her point before turning back to you.

“Alright we’ll do it. What are the details?” You give them the details and tell them where to meet you tomorrow.

“All clear?” you say in closing.

“Got it.” They say in unison.

“Good than I’ll see you tomorrow.” You say maintaining a posh accent while walking past them. Skye turns to call after you.

“Wait a minute, you didn’t tell us your name!”

“Iyda Ironstag, and don’t ye forget it.” You say proudly before continuing to walk on.

“Odd name for a full elf isn’t it sis?” you hear Skye say as you leave earshot.
