Chapter 5 by SkyDreamer SkyDreamer

Behold, my stuff!

Spell scrolls

Spell scrolls are rolls of paper or papyrus, sometimes attached to wooden rods, typically kept safe in tubes of ivory, jade, leather, metal or wood. Upon these scrolls are written enchanted runes that hold within themselves a certain magic effect. Any creature that can read a language can read these runes.

In most cases, a scroll will contain a single spell. Anyone wielding the scroll can read the written incantations aloud to activate the spell, regardless of the reader's own magical ability. Using a scroll does not require MANA or somatic or material components to cast the spell contained within.

Once the scroll has been activated, it crumbles to dust and is thereby unable to be used again.

Any more notes to add onto scrolls?
