Chapter 19 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

Does Roi try it?

Yes, it's the polite thing to do

The knights survived and thrived upon the support of the townspeople. If one drink of punch was all it took to show solidarity with the shopkeepers promoting the Night Parade- and thereby the knights- it was incumbent upon her to do her part.

Plus, the heat of the crowd was making her pretty dang thirsty!

The two sisters drank their punch together, watching as all manner of odd parade-folk went by... men and women in bizarre costumes... men and women in roughly half of their bizarre costumes... men and women in each other's bizarre costumes... men and women in no costumes at all!

Feeling flustered, Roi turned her back from the procession, while Ro watched a particularly shapely shortstack of a maid who happened to suit her fancies, grinning ear to ear. The more stoic of the two turned back to the shopkeeper, beginning to speak... then raised one finger and watched him, while sipping from the glass once more, draining it dry. "This is really spectacular stuff," she admitted.

"Worth the tits!" the merchant laughed, although they'd managed to get one without flashing theirs. "Frankly, the business during the night, people paying like this, has made business boom much harder during the day. Turns out, party drinks like this are in much higher supply when the whole town's partying!"

"Ha ha... I suppose that would be true," Roi chatted idly. Oddly, rather than cooler, she felt as though the drink was making her hotter. She hooked one finger into the collar of her tight tunic and fiddled with the top button. "This is a party drink, you say?"

"Well, you can draw your own conclusions," the man grinned. "Don't worry... I'd tell ya if there was anything in it."

Being a knight meant having a healthy degree of suspicion... or it should, anyway. Some like Roi's sister were too silly and some like Dyna were too powerful to have to worry about it. At any rate, as much as she wanted to believe the gentlemanly pervert of a shopkeeper, she found herself harboring doubts. This was what one calls "being drunk off the atmosphere," and whether she was actually sloshed or not, Roi found herself losing her ordinarily sharp senses and feeling a little buzzed. Her inhibitions, while still stronger than her sisters', were notably lessened.

"Hey, Roy!" Ro giggled, ribbing her sister and using the captain's pet name for her.

"Ro-ee," Roi complained. "You know that, you're my sister..."

"Hee hee! I was just thinking... I'll bet all kinds of merchants are letting people pay for things like this merchant is! We could probably buy all sorts of stuff!"

"D-Do you really want to?" Roi questioned, lowering her eyebrows and seeming critical.

"Of course! Think about it... This is like a free I.O.U. that you can write wherever you like! See, we don't 'spend' our boobs when we flash them, right?! That means we can really grab all kinds of things!! We could feast like princesses or grab all kinds of neat clothes! Oh my Geod, I wonder if anybody's selling Dyna merch?!"

"Calm down, Ro! Rooo!" Roi shouted, running further into the stalls set up by the parade merchants, as she chased after her eager beaver of a sister.

Where did Ro run off to?
