Chapter 20 by MidbossMan MidbossMan

Where did Ro run off to?

Ro found a stall full of Dyna Montague merch!

"Score!" Ro giggled to herself, bobbing her head back and forth happily as she ran far away from her sister as she could get; Roi was just dead weight in a situation like this, where she wanted to cut loose and half fun, just like the captain. Speaking of the captain, she hadn't managed to find Dyna yet, but she'd found the next best thing: a merchandise stall, full of all of the latest collectibles bearing the captain's cheeky, grinning face (among other cheeky aspects). She grabbed an art book and began flipping through it eagerly, her bright eyes scanning back and forth with excitement at increasingly lewd drawings of Dyna on every page. "Gee hee hee hee..." the young girl chuckled, grinning widely and even drooling a bit, with none of the other knights around to scold her for it.

Just as she was flipping to an especially exciting page entitled "Naked Apron Dyna Puts Bread in a Ground-Level Oven", a gloved hand suddenly snatched the book out of her grasp. "Roi!" she complained instinctively, puffing out her cheeks with anger, before she realized that the one who'd taken it was actually the shopkeeper themself.

This stall tender was dressed from head to toe in an odd, yellow-and-black checked, robe-like garment that covered everything from their head to their feet, except for their eyes. Those had nearly black coloration to them and were smiling, batting long, possibly fake eyelashes. "You know I'm always pleased to have a cute young girl at my stall... but these wares must be purchased. No browsing," the stranger, probably a woman from their voice, gently scolded the knight in training.

"B-But how do I know if I wanna buy it if I don't read it first?" Ro complained, crossing her arms irritably. "And I don't have any money!"

"... Ah, yes. 'Reading,'" the shopkeeper joked, neatly closing the book and placing it back onto the table in a tantalizing, close distance to the one who desired it. "Are you new to the Night Parade? You know your money's no good here, hm hm hm... I require something else."

"Ooooh," Ro gasped, suddenly remembering the arrangement. "Hee hee! I'll flash my boobs a bunch and buy out your whole stall!" she grinned, fueled on by the punch she'd had earlier, which may or may not have gotten her pretty sloshed.

The shopkeeper shook their head beneath that strange robe; the pointed tip of it bobbed back and forth as they did. "No, no. It is not so simple. What I want is to barter," she suggested, her eyes taking a moment to scan Ro up and down. "Are you prepared to barter? You have many things that I will gladly trade for my wares. You see, I'm a great admirer of Captain Dyna- as are you- but I like other knights as well. I collect all sorts of knight paraphernalia. Do you understand?"

"I don't know what a pear-er-pher-nail-ya is, ma'am," Ro answered honestly. She was an honest girl and a quick study of the blade, but there was a reason she was trying to become a knight and not a scholar.

"Things. I mean I want your things. If they've been worn by a knight-"

"Knight in training," Ro corrected, even as she looked herself over for which pieces she might be willing to part with in order to grow her Dyna collection.

"Even a knight in training! Then they have value to me," the woman spoke, her voice growing higher in pitch and trembling with greedy intent as she rubbed her hands together. "Are you interested? Let's trade! Come, come! Let's trade!"

Is Ro ready to barter? If so, what will she trade?
