Although the explosion only lasts an instant, and the destruction is immediate, time stretches almost to a standstill, feeling like months.

Eventually, the shockwave reaches your carapace, causing a tremor of pain to ripple throughout your body. The sheer **** of the blast lifts you up off the ground, propelling your body along, slamming you into a nearby rock, and you feel several somethings crack and snap. Your vision flashes white for a moment, and the world begins to spin, lose definition, and blur. You hear a variety of slurred and broken sounds, numbers whizz by your many eyes, and you blink through the confusion, desperately trying to remember who and what you are, and why everything hurts.

A couple of minutes pass, and eventually you recover your senses. The wake of the explosion is truly a sight to behold, as the smoldering wreckage of the goblin camp continues to burn. Tents and shacks burn and crumble, and the pit in the center of the camp seems to have grown even larger, as if it had collapsed in on itself, partially.

You spot the already fading body of the elvish hero, killed by the blast. The makeshift explosion must have caused some truly horrific damage indeed, to have killed her in one shot. It's quite lucky that you had scrambled out of the main damage zone into the damage falloff area so quickly.

No, not luck, skill. This had all gone according to plan. Drawing yourself to your full height, ignoring the creaks of your damaged joints, you proudly observe the destruction wrought before you. With a hint of dismay, you see that the blast killed the tarantulas as well. A pity, but they were probably a lost cause anyway. But does that really justify slaughtering them? As if they were nothing more than cattle? Fodder to fuel your leveling? Does that make you no better than one of those Heroes?

Shaking your head, you abandon that line of thinking. Madness lies that way. Self doubt will only lead to ****. Surety of action is the only way to be safe. Self preservation is paramount.
