To help a friend with a box

You decide to take the option that's most likely to get the game going again. Taking a deep breath to fully clear your head from what just transpired in the bathroom you head up the stairs following in the footsteps Nicole and Matt left earlier.

Part of you feels nervous, leaving Miranda and Tom alone but you convince yourself that it's just Sarahs teasing getting to you. Last time you saw them Miranda looked like she'd rather be anywhere else. "She's probably miserable" you think, the thought comforting you and making you feel bad simultaneously. "One more reason to get the game going again ASAP."

When you come to the upstairs landing you see light spilling out of an open doorway on your left alongside the clear but quiet sounds of passionate kissing. Creeping closer you peek through the crack in the door and see Nicole and Matt locking lips, Matts hands roving possessively over Nicoles cute breasts. Catching a glimpse of a nipple you realize that Nicole has taken off her bra. The sight of the pair exploring each other brings a smile to your face. You're proud to see your mate Matt getting some and you're happy that Nicole has finally found a boy that she feels comfortable with. You've always known she was beautiful but whenever you told her she'd laugh it off and insist you were just being kind.

As much as you're happy for the both of them you know how shy they can be. If you just walked in right now they'd be so mortified they probably wouldn't even look at each other for the rest of the night. Silently you steal back down from the door and creep down a few steps. Stopping about 5 steps from the landing you loudly clear your throat and begin to slowly stomp up the stairs, giving them as much warning and time as you can.

"Hey Matt you got that box yet?" You yell out as you climb the stairs. The sounds of hurried hushed movements comes from the door to Sarahs room as you advance on it as slowly as could be believably reasonable. Stopping by the threshold you pause and take a deep breath to give them as much time as possible before turning the corner and stepping inside.

"Oh yeah, we're doing fine, great even John" Matt says, while awkwardly trying to cover his erection. You notice his fly is down but you try to suppress your smirk as you wonder how far they were going until Nicole grabs your attention.

"Yup just fine us, call us the fine family hahaha" she laughs uncomfortably, huddling herself behind one of Sarahs pillows as much as possible. Glancing to the bed post you see a black bra far too small to cover Sarahs goods and you realize Nicole couldn't get it back on in time. "You sure you're alright Nicole? Your cheeks look a little flushed." You tease her, causing her blush to deepen even more.

"Oh that err... must have been the box! It's so heavy we both got all sweaty trying to move it, right Matt?" You could always see straight through Nicole, she was always far too honest to be a good liar but as Matt agrees and nods his head you decide to play along to spare them both embarrassment.

"Oh well let me get that for you" You tell her as you walk around the foot of the bed to the far side of the box, Nicole turning with you and covering her chest in a **** attempt to hide her cute bare breasts from you. Bending down you grab on to one of the metal handles on the box before looking up at Matt.

"Well, you gonna give me a hand big man?" You ask, raising an eyebrow at him. Matt pauses for a moment before responding, "Oh, yeah of course." and reaching down to grab the handle at the boxes opposite end. On the count of three you both heave the boxes surprising weight up so that it rests at waist level between you.

"You lead Matt" You tell him before speaking to Nicole "You can stay here if you want, come down when you're ready" You shoot a wink at her causing her to blush again but you definitely see a smile on her face even as she turns away from you. Turning your attention back to the task at hand you walk the large chest out of the room, slowly following Matts lead as he heads out of the room and begins to head down the stairs.

The first set of stairs passes in silence as you gradually progress down them, struggling to turn at the corner. Eventually you're able to pivot the box in such a way that you can get back down to the landing that the bathroom is on. While you traverse this next set of stairs you decide you've put enough distance between yourself and Nicole and so you start talking again.

"So, you and Nicole huh?" you ask Matt trying to sound as neutral as possible, to your surprise Matt launches into a sudden tirade "I'm sorry John I know how you feel about her and everything and I know you love her and I shouldn't but she was so close and so beautiful and-"

"Matt!" You cut him off before he can go too far. He shoots you a worried look over his shoulder as you lug the box downstairs. "It's alright" You continue with a tone you would use when talking to a wounded animal.

"You're right, I do love her. A lot. As a friend. The same way I love you dumb ass. I'm just glad that she's happy, and you are too" As you say these words you see a weight lift off Matts shoulders even as he holds up his end of the box.

"Thank you John" He breathes a sigh of relief. "For being so understanding, I was worried you'd kill me"

"Oh I will kill you" You laugh "But only if you hurt her."

Now it's Matts turn to laugh as he steps down onto the ground floor, pulling you and the box with him.

"Oh don't worry, that's the last thing I want to do." He sighs contentedly before continuing. "You know when I came out tonight I really didn't expect... this"

"Is it loooooove?" You tease, stretching out the word. To your shock Matt takes it seriously, hesitating before he answers "Maybe" shakily.

"Well then." You stop teasing and talk seriously "You better hold on tight and don't let her go. She's a special girl. If you have her do everything you can not to lose her."

Matt turns to you again, locking eyes with you as he says "Thanks again John, you're a good friend." You smile at each other, like you've achieved a deeper level of friendship, as Matt pulls up to the door of the front room and opens the door with one hand to finally deliver the box.

Your heart fills with trepidation as all of Sarahs teasing comes flooding back and you realize you're about to see Miranda and Tom for the first time in ten minutes. The door slowly opens before you.
