Chapter 22 by Split_Agony Split_Agony

What business will you attend to next?

Deal with the captured Heroes

Now to go deal with these heroes. Even low level ones provide a fair amount of XP, so it should make for a decent haul. As you approach your troops' temporary barracks you see that Leia has them all bound and gagged in the front yard. Each one's health is deep in th red. They're eyes are puffy and red as though they've all been crying.

A few dozen townsfolk have gathered to watch the spectacle and more are arriving. Most just watch in relative silence or talk amongst themselves, though a few are actively cheering your men on.

"Uh uh!" one of the heroes screams through his gag, shaking his head frantically as the last of the brigands delivers a swift kick to his balls.

The hero doubles over and falls to the side, groaning in agony.

"Master! You're just in time. Everyone's had their turn," Leia says, running over to embrace you. "It was so much fun."

"Nothing less than this scum deserves. Where's Abby?" you ask.

"Oh, after she took her turn she went inside to rest," Leia says.

"Very well, let's get this over with," you say.

You adjust your grip on your scepter and raise it high over your head.

"For your crimes against this land and it's people, I sentence you to ****. Wherever you respawn, tell everyone you meet to beware the Dark Lord: Vader!" you say loudly.

Then, with a mighty grunt you swing it down onto the fighter's head. There's a 'conk' and the fighter looses -2HP. Not very impressive. You're definitely not a melee character. Somewhere out in the crowd someone even laughs.

You grit your teeth angrily and summon a Dark Orb. Its just a small one, the size of a golf ball. And you smash it into his face. His whole body convulses and he shrieks loudly despite the gag. A moment later he slumps over and despawns. After that, no one laughs or cheers.

You repeat the same process with the rogue and then the palidin. All around you, your men bask in the XP and level up. Finally you come to the hero caught sneaking into town; a LvL 2 half-elf rogue.

You pull the gag out of his mouth and ask, "What were you doing, sneaking into my camp last night."

"Don't kill me! Don't kill me again!" he screams in a shrill voice, almost completely devoid of masculinity.

"Again?" you muss.

"It's me, LegolasX2002! I gave you the gem! Please don't kill me!" he begs.

"LegolasX2002? So, that's your name?" you ask, realizing he's the same asshole who tried to kill you in your shop.

"Yeah. Legolas and LegolasX were already taken. And so was LegolasX2000. But I-," he babbles on.

"I don't care," you cut him off and punch him in the face.

Again, it only does -2HP of damage. But his health is so low already that it drops him down to just 1HP.

"Wait! Please! You said I could join you! I've changed my mind!" he says, wincing against the imminent threat of another blow to the face.

"We've already been over this. You had your chance," you say, summoning a large Dark Orb.

"I know where a powerful artifact is!" he shrieks.

You lower your hand and allow the Dark Orb to diminish somewhat.

"Tell me everything. Now," you order.

"W- will you let me join you?" he asks.

"Depending on what you have to say, I may consider it," you say.

"After you deleted my character, my guild wouldn't let me back in. But I still know where their hideout is," he says.

"Hideout?" you ask.

"Yeah, lots of guilds have in-game hideouts where they hide their most powerful gear. It keeps their strength score down so they can get easier guild challenges. Then someone just runs to the hideout and gets the good stuff. Right now they're out scouting for a new hideout. But Patrick is off in the Pleasantvale Meadows trying to impress some fat elf bitch so he hasn't come back for his stuff yet. If we hurry, we can get to it first," he says.

"What's the location of this hideout?" you ask, allowing the Dark Orb to diminish further still.

A tiny, self assuring grin creeps across his face.

"It's in the Gnoll Foothills. Here, let me mark it for you on your map," he says and instantly you can sense a new waypoint appearing on your map.

"Is it well guarded?" you ask.

"We always keep a few rock golems around and there's usually a hero ot two hanging out, but nothing we couldn't handle," he says.
