Chapter 17 by simmaster simmaster

Congratulations, you've secured your continued survival in the forest. What's the next step?

Exploration and grinding. Skip forward a few days.

You lie on the hard cave floor, kept warm by your canine friends. You've spent a few days living here, and things are going excellent. You've managed to track down a few more heroes, and from eavesdropping on them before killing them you've learned that this forest is part of a quest commonly given to low-level heroes in a starting village for elves. That explains the novice elf heroes that you've been encountering.

Unfortunately you haven't leveled up much. So far you've come across a total of four more heroes, and you've only gained two levels. It makes sense of course, the higher level you are the more it takes to get to the next one. You open up your stats to look at the difference again.

Werewolf (Mikael)
Lvl: 12
Melee Attack: 17
Armor: 6
Weaknesses: Fire, Silver
Special Abilities:

Bloodlust: You deal more damage the less health you have.
Tracking: Enemies leave a trail that disappears after 30s * your level.
Heightened Senses: You can see in the dark, hear sounds from further away, smell enemies from further away and distinguish them by smell.

Blood of the Beast: Regenerate 0.25 HP/sec.

You've only gotten two points higher melee damage and one point higher natural armor. The boost from level 8 to 10 was much more significant. That too makes perfect sense since you made the transition from young werewolf to adult werewolf, but you were at least hoping for a small improvement to your regeneration ability. Oh well... If you can keep your current lifestyle up, you're bound to.

Can you keep it up?
