Train under the Moonlight!

"I think I'll be training some magic for now, before thinking of a way to get stronger." Ruby looked at me as I stood up and worked out the kinks in my wings, "Want to join me?"
"Isn't it the male's job to protect the female?" asked Ruby trying to find an excuse to not get up and train in such a wonderful night, "Besides we did train in the morning as well as for a time in the evening, why do we need to train now in the night?"
"Because we'll just stay here and stay stagnate for pretty much ever." was my rebuttal before going back to what she said before that, "Also, I'm pretty sure that's not the case for Dragons, females get to a high peak of power way before males."

"Right, Right. All the same, I'm going to just lay down here and gaze up at the moon."
I shook my head, but smiled at the antics of my friend, she always did get lazy when the moon high in the sky, but that doesn't excuse me not getting more stronger.

Unlike... no that's not the word I was looking at, since I lack the knowledge if the Heroes do or don't actually have the same system I have when getting stats up. Anyway, Monster such as I learn our spells by attempts on casting something new and increase our stats by training our body and mind.
Sadly for us monsters, if to many of us get high enough away from our base stats and level, an alert appears that asks Heroes to come and destroy the targeted monsters for an increased reward. Wait hold on, why am I thinking to myself about such useless information, I've gone over this enough times!
"Oh dear Celestial Dragon, I'm having an internal monologue." was all I could say in fear before shaking my head when I heard Ruby laugh at my situation.

I gave out a puff of air in annoyance as I leaped off of our moon-gazing rock and took flight heading over to the static Lava lake where the more stronger dragons of the crater bath in during the day. Unlike them I'm not lava immune like I'm fire immune, so I just land near it and bring myself to face a cluster of rocks which have quite a few scorch marks on them. This is my magic training rock, many times has my fireball blown up in my face, but today is the day I finally cast something else the dragon breath!

I think hard a long about fire and warmth it bears down on me and my soul, I feel the magic in myself and then focus it into my mouth before slowly transforming it int-
My concentration was then broken by a loud explosion that had my mouth as point of origin, sending me back a bit before I just walked back to my starting point. I failed once more, maybe I should meditate on it... Meditate?

Suddenly I understood the word meditate, much like some automatic response that resulted in me and Ruby getting our increased Intelligence, this was the eas- I'm not doing a monologue and repeating stuff I already know!

Sitting on my rump, I tried to clear my mind, but sadly my goal seemed to return constantly in my mind.
