Chapter 14 by tallywhacker tallywhacker

Where is X0Y0

The Main Menu

"Do you know where this is?" Erin gawks at our surroundings. "This is the throne room. Yttir's throne!"

"The final boss? The big bad!" Erin looks incredulously at you for some recognition.

That's not covered in the tutorial.

"It's in the title screen!"

That's also not part of the tutorial. You kick at the marble floor.

"You seriously don't recognize any of this stuff? Not even the shroud? The shroud?"

Right, the shroud was important. You walk over and stuff it in your satchel.

"What the hell are you doing!"

Relax, this isn't really even part of the game. This is all decoration. See, the shroud doesn't even have good stats, or any stats. Anyway, time to go.

You walk out the door and fall. After a time, you hit a dirt floor, taking 617 points of damage. You summon Erin to make sure she doesn't die from the impact. Before you is a Chinese Dragon. Judging by the area, this is probably a boss.

Erin, why don't you cast a spell at it so you get some experience from the kill

With Erin's worthless chip damage registered, you rush out into the middle of the field and don the shroud. It's immediately clear that this was never meant to appear in the game, it shifts your center and you end up buried in the level geometry. The back of the shroud is now subject to collision problems. It hits the rock you're in repeatedly till its whipping around the room as a polygon of doom.

Normally, the dragon would snake around the room, restricting player movement and releasing bomb homunculi to run up on them. It has no defense against this. Though, you have to consider whether it's even worth it. With your stats glitched to godhood, you could probably beat the dragon conventionally, and it takes so long waiting for the collision damage to kill it, even with your aura contributing.

The shroud actually slows down the world, so it's hard to tell how long you spend in combat, but the dragon eventually dies. The grand explosion would probably be more exciting if you weren't trapped in a rock and a green texture wasn't wiggling around the room. You unequip the shroud and junk it; you're not doing that again.

Erin, come cast something on this rock!

The mage scrambles out of a hole and scurries over to you. Her spell temporarily alters the rock's collision box, and you rocket into the ceiling for 2139 damage and falling back down for another 87.

Definitely not doing that again. Go see what loot we got from this, I'm just gonna stay on the ground for a bit.

What's your reward?
