Chapter 20 by dearnise dearnise

What happens next?

As "Day 1" comes to a close, you find the third & last cosplayer on your photo session list for the day.

The rest of the day at the comic con goes without a hitch, as you tour the floor and the area outside, taking various photos of other cosplayers--both the professionals that have or are sharing exhibit booths, and the regular attendees who are in costume. Those attendees have your business card, so that they can find your photos of them after the convention. As the first day comes to a close, you take your share of photos at the cosplay contest, followed by the "Geek Fashion Show". It is what the name implies, a fashion show. However, instead of your usual line of supermodels showcasing the latest in high-end fashion, it's nerdy women, and the few men, showcasing the latest in geek apparel. Mia is among the models, as well as Cassandra, but the one woman who isn't among them, happens to be the one that is last on your extensive photo session list for the day, and for a good reason.

Molly Daniels, better known in the cosplay culture as "Holly Appleseed", is a slim 5'8" woman from Louisiana, who speaks fluent French--perfect for speaking with "Saint Cassandra", and has a rich Southern accent. She is a lithe, athletic woman, with shapely legs, and average-sized breasts for her frame. While her hair is a natural light brown color, of shoulder length; for her "Batgirl of Burnside" cosplay, she tied her natural hair back, so that she could put on the mask, that has a redhead wig attached underneath it. And while she naturally wear glasses, she is using blue-iris contacts to help complete her cosplay for "Day 1". You find her outside the convention floor, waiting for you. The lights overhead illuminating her said Batgirl outfit--leathers dyed a royal purple, with a black cape attached to the jacket. You see the yellow-colored leather "utility belt", where she's stitched in the pouches. She made some necessary modifications to the gloves to make it look like the comic character, and she had painted her pair of Doc Martens yellow.

"Bonjour, Alex!" Molly smiles to you, and runs over to give you a big hug. "I apologize for being in so late today. I had flight issues going from New Orleans, to L.A."

"What time did you arrive?" You ask her.

"My crew and I arrived at LAX, at 1:00." Molly tells you. "Therefore, we had to check in at our hotel first, and then I was scrambling to go from being 'Good Ol' Molly' to being 'Batgirl'."

"Well, better late than never." You tell her. "At least with nighttime setting in, it makes for some good outdoor setting with your Batgirl cosplay."

"Yeah, I agree." She tells you. "I will try not to take too much of your time tonight, Alex. I know you want to get dinner, then rest before the busy day tomorrow, and I haven't quite adjusted to Pacific Time, yet."

"What is your costume lineup for tomorrow and Sunday?" You ask her, as you walk with her outside the convention center, over to a parking area, that is rather empty, and would be ideal to get the view of Downtown L.A. in the background.

"As part of the 'Aspen Comics' cosplay group," Molly tells you, "I'll be Grace from 'Soulfire'. Sunday, I'll probably be Stargirl for the early half of the convention. Then I'll be my normal self afterwards, so I can go shopping."

"Fair deal, hon." You tell her with a smile, finding an ideal spot for the photo shooting. Add the nighttime setting with the cooling sea breeze, and it makes for an ideal set of poses with her Batgirl cosplay. Molly reaches into her pouch, and pulls out a set of Batarang props, and does some poses with them. Shen then puts them back in the pouch, and pulls out another prop. She had glued a grappling hook prop made of worbla, onto a standard pistol prop. Using it, she does a pose for you, like she's about to fire the grappling hook, and fly into the night.

"Last one in 3...2...1." You take the last photo of her in a fighting pose, with her posing like she's kicking straight at the camera, then quickly review it. "Awesome, I got it!"

"I love it!" Molly tells you with a smile, as takes a look at your photos afterwards, looking at each of them carefully, then kisses your cheek gently.

With the day finally over, you give Molly a hug, who then speeds off to find the rest of her crew. In the meantime, you switch off your camera and external flash, and secure them in your pack. Then you make the long walk back to the hotel, so that you can put the pack safely inside the room, then head back downstairs to find a good bite.

What happens when Alex goes out to find dinner?
