Nicole has something to say

You head to the door, but as you twist the doorknob, Nicole says "Wait."

"What is it?" You say, trying your best to hide your frustration.

"I want to say something. I like you John."

"I like you too." You stammer.

"I mean in a more... how do I say it." Nicole sits up on the edge of her bed again. "Intimate, I guess."

You stammer as you try to come up to a response. Nicole avoids looking you in the eyes, and instead glances at the floor.

She then lets out a sigh before continuing. "I know you like Miranda, but... I-I... I've always... liked you John."

"Nicole..."

"Sorry, I don't mean to make things awkward between us, but..."

"It's okay Nicole. I... I'm just surprised. I mean you're beautiful-"

Nicole seems to perk up. "You really think that?"

"I do."

"I'm guessing there's a but..."

"Well, you're a bit worked up after everything that happened tonight. I don't think we should do anything too rash, right?"

A nervous smile flashes on her face. "You're always so thoughtful John."

"I try to be."

"Thanks." Much to your relief, Nicole lays back down on her back. With your erection having faded during the conversation, you wonder if there is something more between you and Nicole. She certainly would be a prize catch for any man, and maybe that man could be you. Then again, it might be best to leave, before you do anything too crazy.
