Author's note. Hey, first time author, I've never done this before so don't hesitate if you got tips to make my writing better! English being my second language my writing might be awkward or clunky at time, sorry in advance. On another note, I'm writing this story for myself, so while i'm gonna read your suggestions, I have no plan to act upon them unless it fits with my plan. (Yes, I am aware my note is pretty similar to Greenish ahah.)

Mia bolted metal the door of her apartment with an heavy sigh, 1 month of crunch at the office had thoroughly drained her, but she abruptly released a victorious cry for she was now debuting hard earned vacation and a jubilant expression adorned her face as she rushed to her pc, discarding her belonging haphazardly across her living room. Her small fingers tapping away in a flurry, she couldn't wait you see, for she had been chosen to beta test the newest Full-Immersion VR game. Something on her screen started blinking which brought a smile to her lips, the download had finally completed, a whole 69TB even which today internet speed that was nothing to scoff at, taking around 8 hours to download it was just that massive that she had to buy a storage drive exclusively for it.

A few more swift taps on her keyboard and her gaze switched to the long metal chair with cheap leather cushioning next to her desk. It didn't look comfortable at all, but she couldn't afford a more luxurious model with her income so this entry model would have to do. Reclining in it, she immediately confirmed to herself that it was indeed as comfortable as it look, however the poor can't be chooser and at least she won't feel it while in the game or so she told herself.

The young woman then proceeded to lower a high-tech looking helmet connected at the top of the chair into her head and pressed a few buttons on a panel situated near the resting position of her hands initiating the system.

"Immersion in 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Welcome to Telluria!" a feminine voice announced through the helmet speaker.

Mere seconds after the voice faded a burning void of white filled her vision, she groaned at painful but thankfully brief burning sensation behind her eyes. Her eyelids fluttering trying to flush away the tears and clear her vision. Scenes of icy mountains, golden field, lively village and bustling marketplace cycled in front of Mia, when she pondered on how to access the menu, the scenes faded away leaving place for the menu to appears. She had only two options, Create Character or Options she could always fiddle with option later.

"Create Character" Mia said aloud.

A mirror floated in front of her and upon it was a naked reflection of herself, man did she look rough, her skin was pale and the dark bag under eyes from the lack of sleep was not flattering. She mocked herself when she noticed that her blushing brought a bit of colour to her face at least, her gaze then drifter downward, her small bosom barely caught her attention before she noticed that her ribs were starting to show and she sighed, that crunch had really done a number on her. Her gaze further drifted down now looking at her crotch, for some reason she had always loved the sight her well maintained bush at front, everything else was kept clean shaven except for that patch a the front that had always been vigorous, an opinion that most of her past lovers shared or at least she thought so.

"Focus!" She exclaimed to herself while slapping her own cheeks.

Her attention now back upon the task at hand, she opened the **Race** tab first as the **Appearance** tab was grayed out, it made sense to her, if she didn't pick a race and gender how was the game supposed to know what to generate. She starred wide eyed at the list of available races, they were not kidding when they said dozens *plurals*. Granted there were a few that were just subtype of another species, like the different kinds of elves for example high, forest, dark etc...

As she perused the long list she froze as a thought struck her, what kind of character did she even want to play as she would actually need to go through the motion of whatever playstyle she ended up choosing. What a dilemma, while she didn't want to min-max as that was boring in a role-playing context, she didn't want to make a character that was hot garbage either. Tapping her lips with her fingers she ponders to herself as she browse the expansive list of available races.

Humans: Found almost everywhere, humans are the most prolific race in Telluria, their fertility and adaptability as made them the dominant species in most regions. They receive 6 attribute points per level, along with +1 Charisma.

"Humm... So I guess that the baseline is around 7 points per level." She mused aloud as usually human were the basic attributes wise in most RPGs. With a wave of the hand she dismissed the info box. "I could be ANYTHING... why go for something so vanilla." She stopped before summoning more races' info boxes. "I really look up what those attributes are and what they influence before choosing uh, let's see."

Attributes, the statistical measurement of the characteristics of every living being. There are twelve attributes overall, separated into three equal categories: Physical, Mental, & Social. The four Physical attributes are Might, Dexterity, Endurance, & Toughness. The four Mental attributes are Rationality, Insight, Willpower, & Perception. The four Social attributes Composure, Charisma, Allure, & Guile.

Might is the measure of ones physical prowess and ability to exert physical ****. It affects damage dealt by melee weapons and certain ranged weapons. Has a slight effect on Total Health.

Dexterity is the measure of ones reflexes, balance, and coordination. It affects accuracy and reaction time. Has a slight effect on Stamina Regeneration.

Endurance is the measure of ones ability to withstand physical exertion. It affects lung capacity and how long it takes for fatigue to set in. Has a significant effect on Total Stamina and a moderate effect on Stamina Regeneration.

Toughness is the measure of ones durability, resilience, and vitality. It affects resistances to physical damage, poisons, and diseases. Has a significant effect on Total Health and a moderate effect on Health Regeneration.

Rationality is the measure of ones ability to process complex ideas through logical thinking. It affects the spell power of most types of magic. Has a slight effect on Total Mana and a significant effect on Mana Regeneration.

Insight is the measure of ones ability to process complex ideas through logical thinking. It affects a wide variety of skills in subtle ways. Has a slight effect on Total Stamina and a moderate effect on Total Mana.

Willpower is the measure of ones mental fortitude and determination. It affects mental and magical resistances. Has a significant effect on Total Mana and a slight effect on Mana Regeneration.

Perception is the measure of ones environmental awareness. It affects how well one is able to cast multiple types of magic at once. Has a slight effect on Stamina Regeneration and a moderate effect on Mana Regeneration.

Composure is the measure of ones ability to keep their emotions under control. It affects how well one is able to perform under pressure and handle stress. Has a moderate effect on Total Mana.

Charisma is the measure of ones ability to work as a team and the **** of their personality. It affects communication skills and the spell power of some types of magic. Has a slight effect on Total Health and a moderate effect on Mana Regeneration.

Allure is the measure of ones attractiveness, both in physical terms and in their mannerisms. It affects sex appeal and how well one is initially viewed by others. Has a slight effect on Health & Stamina Regeneration.

Guile is the measure of ones ability to deceive others and how well they are capable of learning. It affects a wide variety of skills in subtle ways. Has a slight effect on Total Stamina, Total Mana, & Mana Regeneration.

"Oh boi... I wasn't expecting that much info to be dumped on me at once, almost felt like I was back in uni for a moment." She scratched her head while trying to digest the information. "Still... what kind of character do I wanna make?"
