Chapter 9 by Nemo of Utopia Nemo of Utopia

Which Path Do You Chose?

Magister

You decide that you will take a different path than your mother. The 'Magister' path branches off of Armodon and promises "Primal Sourcery to rival any human of equal level," which with your current stats should make you a very dangerous individual indeed, so that is what you pick with two clicks in quick succession.

You feel your body morph slightly, your scales rearranging to be fewer, and thicker, more overlapped, and bigger, and your tail growing a spiky mace-like flange on its end. while the triple row of spikes along your spine shrinks and flattens into a hard shell-like armor. You also grow horned spikes on your elbows and knees, giving you a few more options in terms of attack. Finally, you feel the magical field of your breath weapon altar, instead of a just a line, it would now be chain-lightning, jumping from target to target until its energy was expended or there were no enemies left to hit that had not already been struck.

A pop-up window opens asking you to chose your Sourcerer Spells and another for your 'Feats' selections, and you get that out of the way quickly before this quick-time event fouls up the server any more than it already has...

You pick a selection of spells, both combat and utility, especially the spell Bind Oath so that you can tie people to their promises to you and a number of combat spells that deal different types of elemental damage from your classic Lightning so that adventurers can't just spam Lightning protection in order to be safe from you. (Especially the low-level Magic Missile, which while pitiful as an attack spell has the resounding advantage of never missing its target.)

All that out of the way you turn your attention to the two survivors of the attack group, who, weakened as they are, behold the fresh threat you represent with terror.

"Ladies, I could kill you right now, I certainly have more than enough cause, but I owe one of you a boon, so instead I offer you a bargain. My entire family lies dead at your hands, my mother, my sister, and my brother, three lives taken. On your side of the ledger is one life was given, that of your barbarian compatriot, which catapulted me to my present status; but; small issue, he will respawn, if what you have said about this quest is true, my mother and clutch mates; will not. However, still, 'a copper saved is a copper earned,' and if so with so small a thing how much more then with lives: thus my life must count on your side of the equation. Yet, that still leaves you both two lives in debt to me; lives which were taken perminantly, how can you re-balance the scales? For myself, I can only see one way: my life will stand for my mother's ****, for my brother and sister: you must give me children, one fertilized egg in exchange for another. Do we have an accord?" You ask as they cower in the presence of your Draconic Fear Aura, their Potions of Fear Immunity having worn off by now.

Do They Agree, Refuse, Or Make A Counter-Offer?
