“No, here’s good. Now go and have a shower. Take your time, there’s no rush.”

“Urm, ok,” Maddie agrees with some trepidation.

The bathroom in Maddie’s house is over the other side of the house so when Min hears the water running she knows it’s safe to call out for me, “I know you’re in here. You might as well come out.”

Stepping out of the wardrobe, Min has a giant triumphant smile on her face as I emerge in my boxers. Min swaggers towards me before she kisses my lips. “How stupid does she think I am? Your car is parked across the road.”

The shower shuts off over the other side of the house and Min shoos me back into the wardrobe. I remain silent as can be while the girls talk as Maddie gets ready as quickly as possible. Maddie having to take clothes out of the washing basket to save from opening the wardrobe around Min.

“Don’t you want to wear something new?” Min asks and I can almost hear the laughter in her voice.

“These are still good,” Maddie covers as best she can.

The two of them leave the room then and head to the front door before Maddie says that she’s forgotten her purse and needs to run back to her room. Inside she whispers into her wardrobe that she’s sorry and that I’ll have to let myself out of her house when her and Min have left.
