I'm all caught up with class work and I feel like I've done all the prep work for Aor's new venture so I just head over to the Loft.

I arrive just as the kitchen and bar staff are starting prep for the evening. In exchange for helping them set up I'm thrown a basket of fish and chips and I take it with me to the front door where I wait for my night to begin.

Dawn comes walking up to the door next. "Hi aaron!" she calls out to him, brushing her hand over his chest as she walks past us, shooting me daggers through her eyes as she does.

"Evening Dawn!" I say to her but get no response. "Dawn?" I ask again but she completely ignores me, getting an exaggerated "ohhh" from Aaron, "what'd you do to piss her off mate? "You're such a dick." Aaron says with a laugh before he cuts his laugh short as Holly pops her blonde head out of the door way. "Hi Holly, how are we looking tonight?" he asks as he stands up straighter at his post.

"Sure, go help Dawn out and I'll take your shift at the door." With that Aaron went inside to go help tend bar for the evening, leaving me and Holly under the yellow humming glow of the outside lights as people began to line up behind our velvet partition rope.

"I really wanted to thank you for everything you did the other night. Jess wants to thank you too." Holly says to me as we check ids and collect cover charges of people as they pass through.

"Please, it was my pleasure." I answer "come on through" I call to a group before reattaching the partition after that group goes through.

Some guy a few people back in the line starts complaining about how long it's taking him to get in. "About time you dumb slag" he spews at her as he pushes his ID into her chest.

"Easy buddy!" I say stepping in, "You know we don't have to let you in here."

"Do you know who I am?" He snarls at me, "you and your dumb bitch coworker here should really let me through if you know what's good for you."

As I stand between him and the doorway I can tell its close to a fight. The guy is a good couple inches shorter than me, but he has that sloppy drunken courage that is going to start something and right as he starts to pull his fist back to throw a punch, he is stopped short. Every movement freezes as his face writhes in pain then his hands drop down to his crotch where I can see the red sneaker Holly wears is now firmly lodged from behind.

The dude crumples to the ground and I help him up enough to get him to run off, well, waddle off bowlegged, howling about getting the cops. He left an ID and a dime bag of weed that fell out of his pocket when Holly punted his nuts.

"Holly why don't you go inside" I suggest, assuring her I can handle whatever the rest of the night has in store.

"Okay, but you know where to find me." Holly responds before heading inside.

A short while later I see the guy returning, walking along side him is a familiar barrel shaped man in a policeman's uniform. The drunk, proud and excited for vengeance comes up to me and blurts out "Where is she? Where is the bitch who assaulted me?"

"Hiya Barry!" I greet my neighbor warmly with and handshake and a hug and I can see the confidence and smile fade from the drunk as he realizes I know the cop he brought around.

after the pleasantries of "This gentleman here says he was assaulted by one of your employees."

"No, that's not what happened Barry." I explain the situation calmly, "You know the kind of place we run here, and you know we have every right to deny service to anyone unruly or that we deem too drunk. That's all that happened here, this gentleman is both and we needed to **** him out of the queue." turning to the drunk "I have your ID right here sir, enjoy the rest of your evening."

"What about... my other stuff?" He asks

"What other stuff?" I ask back, knowing full well he meant his pot.

"Yeah? what other stuff?" Barry asks pointedly and the drunk slowly slinks away realizing he isn't getting his **** back.

"Barry it is great seeing you man! how's things?" I ask my neighbor as things settle down.

"Things are good! my wife actually just texted me saying she is having tea with your girlfriend... the one with the handcuffs... I'll tell you what, Lucy just adores that Yui. You got yourself a keeper."

Smiling, "yeah I got a few."

With that Barry starts to leave "Okay, stop bragging about it. Anyway I got rounds to do before my shift is up, take care now and don't be a stranger!"

The rest of the night glides by seamlessly. The end of the night has me walking through the cleared out Loft, throwing the weed into the contraband collection behind the bar. I see Holly and tell her about Barry's visit and she says how her and Jessica want to make plans with Piya and Yui. As I walk by the bar I catch Dawn's eye and she immediately drops what she's doing and runs over to Aaron and starts feeling his muscles.

I'm more than ready to get home because I have a good idea what's waiting for me there. Even with a small heads up from Barry I am not prepared for what I see in my living room waiting for me.

Dumbstruck by the beauty in front of me, I shut the door behind me and stare at Yui. "Hey Yui, I heard you had tea with Lucy." It's all I could think to say.
