It's a vote

Nobody responds to Sarah immediately, you and Nicole glaring after the door where Tom left, and Miranda still looking at the ground. "Alright," Sarah says. "We'll have a vote. Whoever wants him to leave, raise your hands." You and Nicole raise your hands without thought. "And whoever thinks he should stay?" Sarah raises her hand, and then, after a moment's hesitation, Miranda raises her hand too. You and Nicole look at her in shock. "Alright, it's a tie!" Sarah says. "And since it's my house, I say he stays. Any objections?"

Nicole starts to speak. "Hang on a minute-" but Sarah puts her hand in her face, stopping her.

"Too bad, don't care," she says, then runs out after Tom. "Tom! Tom, wait up!" She says as she leaves the room.

Matt walks in, flicking water off his hands, and notices the mood and the missing people. "Uh, what happened here?" You and Nicole explain to him what happened.
