You have a confusing name. Even you think so. As an elite, you're stronger than the rest of your kind. But you're still a lesser variant, which means that you're smaller than other mimics. You're not even large enough to reliably imitate a normal treasure chest. In your undisguised form you look a little like an octopus, but with a lot more teeth. And a giant tongue.

For now, let's take a look around you. The room you are in is an old, dusty and sparsely decorated bedroom. On the wall hang two rusty sabers and a rusty shield. This room is on the ground floor of a very old tower, which stands on top of a sprawling maze of caverns. The tower and the caverns used to be very busy with traders a few centuries ago, but two very powerful wizards fought each other in here. The fight lasted decades, involved many minions on both sides and eventually left the tower and the caverns corrupted and filled with monsters. Many people rightfully suspect that there is much treasure to be found in these places and come here looking for gold, scrolls, tomes, alchemical ingredients, weapons and so much more.

You and the other mimics were originally summoned by one of the wizards to protect his treasures. Most of the creatures in the tower don't care about the treasure anymore. You don't. There are only two things that currently hold your interest. Killing intruders and evolving. You've never been able to do the latter, but the former occasionally succeeds. You've even leveled up a few times. If you do that two more times you're going to evolve and probably won't be a lesser anymore.

With these stats and skills, your best course of action is to disguise yourself and wait for someone to come into the room. Duh, you're a mimic. But what to mimic? You could be a small chest on the bedside table, you could be a sword or shield on the wall or maybe you could pretend to be a dusty window.
