Chapter 3 by Stalagg Stalagg

Your answer comes in the form of a...?

..Dwarf, a Gnome and a Half-Orc...no this isn't a bar joke.

"This way then! The path just detours this way trust me!"

A masculine voice suddenly echoed through your camp chamber from somewhere far off. Your head perked up at the familiar accent it held and you couldn't help but groan at what was in the Caverns; a Dwarf. The only race more greedy than Dragons and Treasure Goblins alike. You were positive if you gave a Dwarf a good price they would sell you their brother, their cousin, and their mother in a heart beat. An adventuring Dwarf would do anything to turn a profit, including tracking down a Treasure Goblin regardless of the risk it posed.

It wasn't something you could hide from however and you knew you had to address it. So sitting up from your perch you then scooped your Sack up into your arms and hefted it onto your back before scurrying off into a nearby tunnel. Though a tight fit it always was enough space to get your Treasure Sack through and really that was the most important thing. A Treasure Goblin without his Sack might as well be a Unicorn without it's horn; worthless.

"Your idea of a detour, Faldin, is going to get us lost in this miserable place. It doesn't matter everything in it is weak, we still have to find a way out."

A feminine voice this time spoke up, though deep and with much strength to it. You couldn't help but shiver and dread the thought of whoever owned said voice. You've heard that tone before but not from any hero, Orcs on occasion spawn before the Boss and their voices matched up someone with this woman's. A Half-Orc maybe? You've only heard of them but it isn't hard to imagine some heroine getting cocky and being overwhelmed by Orcs. Having a Half-Orc ends anyone's adventuring career. By now you could hear the movement of a party of heroes and there was no mistaking the shuffling of adventurers. Clattering weapons, bouncing packs, the jingle of coin purses. Control yourself you remind...well yourself, there wasn't a chance they'd just sit their money down where you could snatch it.

"Didn't you say there would be treasure down here? I hope we find it soon."

A second woman's voice sounded but her's was a much higher pitch compared to the previous woman. Much softer and less threatening you noted. A Gnome! A sane one at that, not like the tribe that existed deeper in the tunnels.

Three adventurers this time around, one you already disliked, one that frankly scared you, and one which thankfully you could outrun no matter what. It could be worse, one of them could be a Thief with a trap specialty. While hiding from the heroes was definitely an option, the loot they didn't pick up was more than worth the risk of venturing out of hiding. You could only hope they didn't know a Treasure Goblin was in the tunnels with them.

Your next move is to?
