Time failed to be on anyone’s side but most especially Ms. Betsy Braddock’s side. The twist that Ethan failed to consider, because he was new, is that having a conversation with another automatically opens your mind to them. That made it a simple thing for even her to slip past his defenses before Emma Frost or Jean Grey could do anything, & rock his world.

The only command that she had the time to successfully re-engineer and perform is to reflect Mr. Ethan Rhodes’s own commands back on himself. That was even as her own mind began to instinctually accept him as her life partner. Which is and of itself rather different than what Ethan version α intended.

The entire life experience of Ethan, let alone the past twenty-four hours, was apocalyptically dissonant with his mind accepting his own commands, the effect left his psyche shell shocked. He was always the one in command, & so all kneeled to him. His challenging approach to life had carried him far in life, until now. As his psyche slowly rebuilt itself, Psylocke’s own mind was also stunned, though she saw the commands as several magnitudes less outrageous than Ethan.

The mutant ability Ethan possessed operated on a separate plane from the psyche. That was how it was able to blindside every mutant that came near him. Locking eyes with Betsy, Celeste, Irma, and Phoebe Cuckoo and Ruth Aldine he lost all sense of his bearings. It was akin to being in freefall but while flat footed. Or walking on land after spending a month on the high seas.

Of course, physical eyes became irrelevant as there were much more pressing concerns than the silver cord showing the way back to the bodies. It turned out they had not gone far which boded well for when the time came for the trip back.

Ethan would have never thought of this solution in time, in several millennia. However, that was exactly why he chose to trust Jean Grey and Emma Frost. However, the problem was everyone knew of their powers & were trained daily on how to combat those powers. Where he had corrupted all with nary a word, his two acolytes were stuck in gridlock against the Stepford Cuckoo's & Ms. Ruth Aldine.

The mental forces at play created an explosion of Prana that shook all to their core. Even Blindfold was effected, but she was able to delay the changes to her in order to make changes. It was difficult for any mind to mentally attack hers, her point of view was akin to her mind's eye being permanently in third person. She viewed reality outside of time and space. She was able to ‘mold’ Betsy's redirect of the explosion to accomplish several things, including changes in Ethan’s own mind.

The damage to existing relationships mostly failed to be Ethan’s fault. He only revealed the secrets and molded how they chose to respond. Blindfold knew almost instinctively that freeing everyone completely may also fracture the current X-Men leaders from the rest of the institute. Thus she engineered some of the Prana injected into the explosion from the Stepford Cuckoo's to carry Ethan’s commands into all minds in this quadrant of the galaxy.

The added power from the Prana of the Phoenix went very far in forcing minds to overcome the innate mental hurdle of whatever distance their minds perceived as being involved.

The relationship between Emma Frost and Scott Summers will explode beyond being physical. He was already infatuated with her, and she was only a couple steps further away from reciprocating the emotions. Sex inevitably created feelings of attachment. It is a subconscious mechanism. Though experience does lessen the effect. The much overworked mind link of the Stepford Cuckoos’ eventually came around to approving of the changes to Emma’s personality.

The Stepford Cuckoo's unanimously approved all decisions that retarded Emma Frost from selfish narcissism. To them there failed to be any point in serving the self past necessities for life. A rich man can only give all of his wealth once, but they can instead give a portion of their income infinitely. Despite her own self image, she was a rather text book case of how power tends to corrupt.

As President Lincoln once said, if you want to know a measure of a man, give them power. Emma's power was simply innate instead of being appointed to some be another unelected government official.

However, going into this even the primary problem in life for the Stepford Cuckoos was the Phoenix. It introduced a magnitude of power that drowned out all but the most basic of emotions, the desire to live. However, Emma Frost was the original from which they were cloned, and they had long since decided that compelled a certain amount of caring about Ms. Frost from them.

Jean Grey already considered Scott’s mentally fucking Emma Frost, as cheating mostly because it was a conscious choice on his part. The emotion of jealousy was severely retarded within her psyche. However, the act of cheating was a loss of trust that she still refused to abide. Scott had attempted to hide the affair from her.

Wolverine did have that Japanese heiress as a wife. Yet Blindfold, could see that the vast majority of positive futures consisted of James Howlett {Logan, Wolverine} easily satisfying the wants of both women the Heiress and Jean and helping them choose to be happy.
