Lasting Impact

Ruth Aldine still keenly feels the loss of David, Legion. Part of that is the fragment of his mind he left with her. The other part is her near total recall of past, present, and future. Even though now that she was whole, she more easily distinguishes the timing of unique events. However, what was currently occurring was beyond any facet of time that was visible to her.

Kurt Wagner {NightCrawler}, had already been helping Ruth allowing herself to find a new sense of happiness without David. Kurt had become a very good friend when she needed one the most. She still missed who had been lost, and everyone else forgotten, but it was similar to the effect of lighting two candles instead of one, or trying to split one.

This facet of David’s psyche was even free of the mentally debilitating rage that lead to his ****, because Ruth's facet of David was from before the mental disease took hold from barbaric shock therapy, experimental surgeries, and mind altering **** that had been thrust upon him from an early age. Humans ten to embrace the dark side of emotions when facing the unknown, & he had always made everyone exceptionally scared. If she was honest with herself, knowing everything that ever was or could be, what her choice would have been as David's mother is unknown to her. She felt both choices were equally supported & flawed, even if they were polarly opposed

Despite Ruth's maturity she loathed the idea of completely capitulating to Ethan Rhodes’s selfish desires. So she developed a compromise within herself. She would accept the reality & as a lover to Ethan ß, but the emotional compulsion commands mostly passed through her psyche without making any changes. Only mostly pass through, because they still did have the effect of helping expand her heart to include him, with David.

Even if the Ethan that entered this juggernaut of reality would simply cease to exist. His mind was obsessively focused on service'to'self, namely his own pleasure. Consequently, Ms. Aldine's commands essentially flipped his psyche to the polar opposite of the previous version of himself. It would be hypocritically bigoted towards his soul, to change reality yet exclude herself completely.

The choice inspired a deep regret within Blindfold, as she was essentially psychically murdering Ethan version α. Omega level mutants required more draconian measures to keep in check. At least, that is the rationalization used by her.

That made it easier for the foreign commands to be embraced, the part that she did allow to alter her own psyche. It was punishment, for the perceived crime of ****. Regardless of her lack of the same devoted adoration the others would feel, she would **** herself if necessary to have many children with Ethan ß. At the last moment she altered the juggernaut further to further ease the level of adoration & devotion to more normal levels, including the option for those feelings to be lost if Ethan ß continued down a path of pure hedonism. It was enough to help give the new Ethan contextual guidance once time began to flow more normally.

Access to the Astral Plane can enhance eye sight to include a scope of reality that mundane eyes simply failed to capture. There was a very large swath of radiation that organic eyes failed to perceive, & those invisible dangers can still kill like Gamma Radiation damage. So it was with hyper physics that encompassed the demi-planes that separated realities from each other. Whole worlds that existed just out of sight.

That Eldritch Sight of seeing Ethan Rhodes version ß spring into existence, seemed very similar to the birth of a child to Ruth. Except it was replacing version α of Ethan Rhodes, & it was fully developed unlike a child.

Blindfold reflected upon her choices now that it was too late to change the wave form. She could feel her own perception towards Ethan become more loving. That was how the Ethan α's mental explosion of psychic energy was molded & redirected into being something far more than he ever intended. She was happy with how the future was branching out now that the choices had been made. For the choice was always the most agonizing part of making a decision. Once she made it, then she committed her entire being towards that choice. Today simply had bigger ramifications the vast majority of choices she faced each day.

The Ruth-Ethan-Prana tsunami was molded to include all present, but at each other instead of just Ethan. Ethan Rhodes ß would be having other female mutants to satisfy both here now and in the future, such as the Stepford Cuckoo triplets.

The future is fluid and changes merely by looking at it, but Blindfold understood that the Homosapiens leading the X-Men would be looked at as examples by the following generations. This was going to create an explosion of new mutant births and that would be a problem for another day, but the point was the choice was an answer to a much more dire problem. That being the lack of population growth among like minded individuals. Instead mutants died far too easily. They already took care of other people's children, the institute would simply add caring for & raising their own along with those they embraced. Ruth foresaw a need to create a new landmass that was free of habitation, or maybe terraform & colonize one of the planets. Unfortunately, normal humans would still try to pick a fight with what they feared.

Fortunately, modern medicine's advancement in prenatal vitamins and care meant women were free of the lasting physical drain babies had on their mothers in pregnancies of the past. Given that the mothers & fathers were both empowered with unique abilities & providing a stable home life, there was little Ruth saw that was truly insurmountable.

For the Stepford Cuckoos the explosion of Prana was extremely painful... but that was a good thing. The psyche’s Id for Celeste, Irma, and Phoebe Cuckoo discovered an extremely rare opportunity to empower the Ruth-Ethan-Prana wave with enough of the Phoenix's energy to leave their future selves able to express genuine emotions with their diamond hearts. The emotional freedom caused their minds to go blank from the change.

For them there had only ever been that one reality of caging the Phoenix. Life before they were **** to assume the role of Sisyphus was now alien to them, just as much as the present. They were all shell shocked for several minutes.

However they were still affected by the Ruth-Prana paradigm frequency shift. Energy could only be transformed and redirected, except they were without any point of reference from which to judge whether the changes were good or bad. They did know of Ms. Aldine as a good person, a hero that sought to help others choose to be happy.

Abundantly reciprocating adoration, admiration, and being in love with Ethan Rhodes ß and themselves was an acceptable emotional beginning for them. Their new realities would already be emotionally stressful, and they welcomed it being attenuated by a stable positive romantic relationship with Ethan.

The only result that Ruth was dissatisfied with was Betsy Braddock who Ruth considered an exceptionally good person, and undeserving of any fate being **** upon her. However, Ms. Aldine **** herself to admit that she was unable to foresee a future where Betsy was any happier than she is with Ethan, the Stepford Cuckoo triplets, & Ruth.

Celeste and her sisters deserved and are worthy of feeling overwhelmingly loved, joyful, and happy. So it came to be that all will feel exactly that with their new assigned significant others. Ruth hated being unwilling to just rebuff the wave off those present, but she was already finding that her chosen penance for her sins was not exactly all that awful... with the boy that Ruth silently called Ethan-David…
