Chapter 4 by simmaster simmaster

What kind of quest should you give her?

A kill quest... with a twist.

A plan quickly forms in your mind... Perhaps you could take **** on one of the many heroes who have terrorized your village, and possibly even gain some XP in the process? Now to hope that this actually works...

"One of my only friends have been killed by an outsider," you say in your best "innocent little boy" voice, attempting to recall the name of a hero that fits this description. There are several, but you never did catch any name. Except one, you remember... A big-mouthed one that announced his name at least twice.

"He was killed by Airus Longsword, a paladin. I miss my friend very much... But I can't get him back. So instead I want Airus. Please, bring him here so he can face justice."

The barbarian raises an eyebrow. Has she figured out that this isn't an actual quest? Your worries don't last long though as she speaks, mostly to herself.

"Huh, I was not expecting a PK quest around here... I thought you wanted me to get you some bread or something. Man, the developers must REALLY be mad about people not respecting this place..."

Then she continues, directing her words more towards you, "So what do I get out of this?"

"You get the appreciation of an orphaned child, and all the items the paladin may have on him," you say. "But remember, you have to bring him back here alive so he may have a proper execution."

The barbarian appears to be considering it. "Well... A paladin should have some good stuff on him, and it's more acceptable to kill another player if it's for a quest... Fine, I'll do it."

To your amazement you hear the tone of your questgiver menu updating, and opening it you find that a new quest has been added, along with an active participant, the barbarian.

Quest Name: What Goes Around...
Objective: Escort Airus Longsword to Torgniam and watch his execution.
Reward: Items dropped by target and 100 XP
Participants: Vidla

Huh. So apparently you can make up your own quests. That... would have been very useful to know earlier. But how does it work? It even filled out some things on its own, adding an XP reward, a quest name, and even a marker on Airus. You decide not to question it for now and instead be happy that your plan worked so perfectly.

"Bye, then," the barbarian who according to the menu is named Vidla says. "I'll be back with Airus Innuendo-Surname." Then she walks away, leaving you alone on your porch.

It worked. You can hardly believe it. Soon you will have one of the guilty heroes on a silver platter, not only getting your ****, but if everything goes the way it should, you'll even get XP for killing him! You find it hard to contain your excitement. You should have tried something like this a long time ago!

Does anything happen while Vidla is gone?
