Chapter 6 by Rereese7 Rereese7

What do you see?

A Room With... A Statue?

Your sight took in walls except for one that had a huge, glowing hole in the middle of it. Standing in that hole... no, opening. Somehow, the word came to you. It was an opening. And standing in the middle of it was a big... figure.

Unable to tell what the figure was, you refocused on the other side of the room. You were sitting on a stone pedestal of some sort, the thing only big enough to hold your egg. You shifted your sight and noticed a stone creation opposite of the opening. It was hard to figure out now, but later, you'd remember it in clear detail.

The statue was of an elven woman, completely nude except for a crown atop her head. It was shaped to look like a snake eating its own tail with the head of the snake above her face. She was tall, even by elven standards, and her belly was HUGE, showing pregnancy for sure. By her bare feet, there were small tails that wrapped around her ankles, maybe a dozen of them. And they all clung to her, like a child to their mother.

Mother.

Back in your egg, the word came to you with ease, though you still didn't know where it came from. But focusing your attention on the statue, you were certain this was your Mother.

"What the hell is it?"

This voice was different from the first. As you shifted back to focus on the opening, the glow coming from it had dimmed and you could see three figures.

The first was huge, holding what you know now as a greatsword. He had armor that covered everything except his face, revealing dark skin, pitch black hair and a scar running over one of his brown eyes. He moved into the room first, scanning it with his eyes to check for traps or hostiles. Then he spoke and you recognized him as the first voice.

"No traps. Looks like we cleared the cave."

Behind him was a smaller figure, the face much nicer then the first creature's. Instantly, you could tell it was female, just like your mother. She had flowing blonde hair that ran down the back of her clothing, which was a simple top and some shorts with fur boots on her feet. She held a bow in her hands and a quiver strapped to her back, (you just wish you knew what this was BEFORE it was used against you), her deep green eyes scanning the room as well before settling on you. Well, your home. But her light colored face immediately frowned in disgust.

"Ugh. We came for that?"

The last figure stepped through and this one was difficult to tell. It had robes that covered the entire body, keeping you from getting any specific impression of gender. It didn't hold a weapon like the other two but the hands looked soft as it made a sweeping motion towards you. The soft purple eyes glowed yellow for a moment before settling back to purple. It turned its head to look at the girl and you saw a bundle of black hair tied up behind the head. You also noticed the pointy ears and immediately made the connection to your Mother. Then the creature spoke and you were almost certain it was a girl with how soft the voice was.

"This isn't what we came for but it's a bonus. There's no spells on the egg and it radiates with energy. Could be worth a fortune to the temple."

Then the creature-with-axe made a grunting noise as he walked past you, staring at the statue of Mother.

"Forget the egg. I want to meet this elf."

You didn't like him ogling Mother but you took that word in. Elf. You'd have to remember that.

As the thing stared at Mother, you saw the girl in robes walk up and flick him in the back of the neck, causing him to flinch. She spoke easily, clearly unamused with his staring at the statue.

"Why are you barbarians all alike? Why can't you appreciate the art of the statue? The smooth stonework and amazing detail."

The "barbarian" thing laughed and shook his head, walking back to where the opening was.

"Cause we're barbarians! We didn't choose the class to be gentlemen to a girl! We chose it to give her a good time! So that she squeals as a man takes her from behind!"

The elf just rolled her eyes but the archer girl let out a sound that sounded a bit like she was clearing her throat but lightly. Giggling, the word appearing again.

"Yep, cause that's the reason that an archer and sorcerer invited a barbarian into their group. That's the only explanation, right?"

As the barbarian growled at her, she stuck her tongue out playfully. He just sighed and turned towards the opening, walking out.

"Whatever. Let's just get out of here. I'm ready to be done with this place."

As he left, the archer turned to look back at your egg, her face turning back into disgust.

"Are we really taking that thing with us? It looks... sickly."

You paused and realized you didn't observe your own home. You quickly focused on your egg and realized... she might be right. The color was an ugly, swampy green with little bumps along the sides. You were certain that it was a bit slimy too, judging by the wet stuff sliding down it. Though, you had no idea where that stuff was coming from.

But the elven girl just shook her head and waved her hand at you. Immediately, something even wetter caressed your egg, taking only a second before disappearing and leaving your home without that slimy stuff.

"See? Not a problem. Just put it in your inventory."

"I'm not touching that."

"But it's not wet anymore."

"I don't care, Alex! It's disgusting and I'd rather not have it explode all over my clothes."

With a deep sigh, the elven girl reached out and put her soft hand on your home.

Then you realized something...
