Chapter 26 by Nemo of Utopia Nemo of Utopia

Where To Next?

A Market In Humduel...

Oh, how you have dreamed of this day: ok, the day you have dreamed of is not THIS day, not yet, but it will come soon enough.

Like most of the games made by Westerners, in "Aluvia: A World Of Fantasies", slavery is considered an evil act unless it is a voluntary BDSM '****' contract like Abby has with Amare, which technically isn't slavery at all, it would be properly defined as indentured service. Some regions, however, practice actual out-and-out SLAVERY, and one of the worst of them is the dessert realm of Vaxwuri; especially its capital city of Humduel.

Humduel is a high-level adventuring zone for do-gooders like Paladins, Crusaders, Inquisitors, Exorcists, and the clergy of most of the more Good-aligned faiths. It's also a haven for Blackguards, Necromancers, and many other evil-aligned classes. Part of what makes it so is that Humduel houses the largest actual **** market in the world: the Copper Square. Thosands of NPCs are bought and sold here every day, some of which are incorporated herein as set stock of the market, some of whom are kidnapped by slavers from other parts of the world and brought here to sell to intrested parties in private deals or closed auctions.

FIVE are special to you, part of the set stock of the market, two adult Ratling parents and their three children. Technically, they are not part of your sphere, they belong to another minor god, actually, a goddess, called Gubri. Gubri is the Goddess of the Ratlings, which is not much, but she's made it work for her, to the point where she scorns you, though mostly for fear of being lumped in with you by the others. However, unlike almost everyone else except Lorchos, (who will stand up for you even in public, though he's not really a friend, bullying just annoys him), she's actually pretty OK in private, heavens, once she even gave you the divine equivalent of a pity fuck...

But, here's the thing, you're not sure why, but the female of the pair has the marker in her sheet for having evolved from a Giant Rat, which means that TECHNICALLY, (even though she was probably just written that way by some code-dog long ago,) she WAS part of your sphere once, and with deities, that can be enough of a foot in the door to shift the fate of nations with persistence and cunning.

You possess a biting gnat and fly around high above the market for hours building up power slowly then expend almost all of the power you have to tailor a type of virus in the Gnat's saliva to do something VERY different than it is supposed to be able to do. Hunting through the market you find the Ratling Family on the auction block and land on the mother's tail to bite her and inject the virus. Her tail slaps the gnat but you don't care, it would have been dead by the end of the day anyway, now you just sit back and wait...

Far far away, in a different world, a flashing red icon with a 1 comes up on the control panel of the Administration Action Network for "Aluvia: A World Of Fantasies" Tokyo office and the Second Senior Vice President of Game Administration of Liquid-X Games, (the company that codes, writes, and manages the game,) reads the notice, reads it again, reaches for the phone with shaking fingers, and dials 002 to scramble the Tokyo office emergency administration response team...
