7-9: Kate has company

You hear conversation as you approach Kate's office, and once you reach the doorway you see she has company. The office is small but not crowded, with the space neatly filled with a sit/stand desk and chair, a small table with two office chairs, a full-size bookshelf, and a waist-high metal filing cabinet. A couple of plants sit on the wide sill of a window with a view of a small alcove formed by the building's odd shape. Kate, wearing a charcoal grey blazer over a dark green shirt that is low enough cut to display an expanse of her sternum without revealing cleavage and a matching grey skirt coming down to mid-thigh, is leaning against the bookshelf with her arms crossed as she speaks to one of your coworkers, a former nurse named Deb.

Deborah, who goes by Deb, is 5 foot 5 with bottle-blonde bangs, glasses, and a round nose that often flushes pink. Her late-50s body is also best described as round, ballooning horizontally as it slightly does from chest to midsection to hip, though she is not so overweight as to huff and puff as she moves around. She has a laugh more like a cackle that she frequently uses, and which carries stridently across the office space whenever she does.

Deb is laughing one of these piercing laughs now, as you lean against the doorway of the office. Kate's eyes slide calmly from Deb to you, and she queries: "Yes, Sean, do you need something?"
