The unimaginable! The unthinkable! The unbelievable! A superheroine like you is a defender of justice. You put your life on the line daily for the sake of countless others. Perhaps you are a staunch defender of the law. Perhaps you are a shadowy vigilante fighting for right when the authorities won't. But, if you wear the cape and tights, that means that evil has good reason to fear your righteous power.

You know that many villains do not fight alone. They revel in their power and wealth, using it to bind other to their will. Hired guns, cult-like worshipers, mind-controlled thralls. To reach the villain themselves, how often have you had to fight through a crowd of hopelessly-out matched followers?

Most Heroes rarely stop to consider the lives of a baddie's mook. The generous among your profession might show them mercy. However, it is natural to scorn those who would follow a villain as a leader. Who would take a villain's money to be his little lackey, or worse a willing accomplice.

Nor, frankly, do the villains themselves ever show much regard for their peons. Many a henchman has met their fate at their own leader's hand when they proved disappointing in their execution of orders. Nor are they allowed much pride. What Villain doesn't want to stand tall on their splash page? To let their underlings fall into the background.

Dressed identically, faceless, subservient, expendable. That is the lot of a henchman.
