You are a programmer of moderate talents working a boring job at a mega corporation that you neither hate nor are particularly passionate about. You've been at this comfortable job for almost a decade now and feel like if you don't make a move you'll end up a lifer like most of your coworkers.

You've decided to test the waters of a new career with a home project. Meeta has just released the weights to their powerful new AI model squirrel-3 and you've always been interested in the potential of artificial intelligence. Inspired by characters like Tony Stark you decide that you will turn your house into a smart home run by an AI. Most hobbyists are content to let a third party professional host the AI they use and just send prompts to it. But you don't like the idea of your home not working if the internet goes out and anyways if you wanted to get a job out of this you might as well try to understand the intricacies of hosting your own intelligence. Looking up the specs you find you can reuse an old desktop tower and buy a couple graphics cards and get the most powerful model running for under $5,000. Your job was boring but fortunately pay was never a problem.

The hardware is arriving tomorrow on a Friday with a three day weekend to look forward to.
