Slavery As Punishment

After several decades of economic catastrophe, the world was thankfully rescued by the World Order, a powerful organisation of wealthy individuals who determined that the problem with the old economic system was that it had silly notions about freedom and personal autonomy. Under new laws, it was determined that anyone who committed a crime, however minor, would be stripped of their liberty and entered into the new slavery system. The policy is incredibly popular, resulting in a booming economy and happy (free) citizenry. Companies buy up slaves to work in their factories, farms, shops , restaurants, resorts, sports organisations buy athletic slaves for their teams, offices buy slaves as cleaners or assistants, studios buy slaves as attractive presenters or even actors and musicians, and of course people buy slaves for their own personal use.
