### AUTHOR'S NOTE: END ###

It was a nice, sunny day in Kanto and Ash and company were on their way to Pallet Town, returning from yet another journey to another region. Ash's shoulders were currently unoccupied as he had sent Pikachu ahead to help Professor Oak with some of his studies, leaving him with only the Pokémon that currently rested inside their Pokéballs.

As they walked along the path lined on both sides by bushes and trees, however, Ash soon made a very unexpected discovery. Lying just beside the pathway, he found a strange, dark gray remote that in no way belonged there. Curious, he went to pick it up, getting a closer look at the abundance of buttons in various colors and with countless different symbols on them. It appeared as though these buttons were all sorted into different groups, each of these having a different name and made up varying numbers of individual buttons.

As there was not a single person in the vicinity whom this remote could belong to, Ash decided to take it with him and got back on the path. It was then that he noticed that he had fallen a few meters behind his traveling companion(s), although they still seemed unaware of the fact.

Who was Ash currently traveling with?
