May, Ash's traveling companion from Hoenn, was currently facing him with her back. She was dressed in her usual outfit, consisting of a short-sleeved red shirt with a dark blue half-circle around its collar along with a white mini skirt over dark blue cycle shorts. Her hands were covered in white gloves with dark blue fingertips while on her feet, she wore black ankle socks under her red shoes with black and yellow stripes. Additionally, her hair was secured in its signature style by a red kerchief with a white symbol of a Pokéball on it. As they continued to walk along the path that led through the woods, May hadn't yet noticed that her traveling companion had stopped in his tracks while she admired the beautiful Kanto landscape.

As Ash went to catch up with her again, he kept looking down at the remote he now held in his hands and wondered what it might be for. Intrigued as he was, Ash ended up pressing one of the buttons, unaware of the fact that it was pointed straight at May and of the effect it would have.
