Breeding Time in Silverton
A time-honored tradition
Chapter 1 by cjv1
The first day of spring was upon the land. Birds have returned from the south, tweeting happily in the trees. A cool breeze floated through the valley, making the weather absolutely perfect. And to top it all off, the first flowers of the season have begun to blossom.
Everyone in the village knew what that meant. In three days' time the yearly breeding festival would begin. During the three sacred days, the men of the village were tasked with spreading their seed, ensuring that the children born that year were of the strongest genes they could be. This was the way it was done for hundreds of years, and it continued to this very day.
Little girls looked forward to their first festival, just like the boys were. They were always told just how important it was during those three days to do whatever a man might ask, and that sort of control was exhilarating to a lot of the younger men. Most women looked forward to those days, eager to have a child, and understanding the importance to wait for the festival to have one.
The boys were taught why they needed to take the festival seriously, after all, they'd have to if they ever wanted to continue their lineage.
Today was definitely the first day of spring, and with the festival only three days away, you need to prepare.
Who are you, and what are you planning?
