Big life issues

A bright Monday morning, Katya wakes up as usual to find her bed empty. Harold is most certainly at the office, at his desk doing boring paper work she would never understand. Katya and Harold were college sweethearts. Well actually she prefers to call it University sweethearts. They got married almost immediately after graduating and Harold got a job at the "Robinson and bros Inc." as a junior accountant while Katya decided to be the good housewife. Harold's job seemed like a nice one at the time with a nice salary and annual bonuses but though he is very able and holds a Diploma with Hons., Harold had been a Junior accountant for 3 years now and not once did he get a pay rise or a promotion.

Katya has a flash back of the time they were at University. She was the clubbing and life-enjoying chick while he was the nerdy kid who knew it all. She loved him for that, he was different from the others. He had a goal, she knew he would become someone important someday and she was proud of him. She knew that she would be at his side, though she is not as smart, she'll do everything for him to reach his potential. Her friends, however, couldn't understand what she found in him and yet here they are, married for almost 3 years already and she still loves him as much.

Katya still missed her university life sometimes. She was one of the football cheerleaders at the time, one of the most popular students on campus, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, she was built like a porn star. She was ideal. Well, she still is. She never quit training at the gym and never misses her 2 hour yoga 3 times a week.

Then a few months ago, her husband started coming home later. She could see how hard he is working, how exhausted he is every night. She is doing her best to support him but lately she has been thinking that this is not exactly the life she had been planning on having. Something was awfully wrong. She had to do something. She has to do something.

On top of that, recently, their sex life has been practically dormant. Harold is too tired after work to even think about making love to her. And the rare Sundays they have are also busy with phone calls from his father and brother who live far away across the Atlantic. Katya is tired of all that. She has to talk some sense into her husband, she has to do something about their lives. She has to fight for their love or it will be too late.

And then Harold decided last Christmas to help his nephew in University. Katya was even prouder of her husband at the time. It was a noble deed and they could afford it at the time. How were they to know that Harold's Dad's company would bankrupt after a few weeks. That was when everything collapsed. With his father's debts on his shoulders, Harold is not earning as much as he thought he was. Katya stood by him and decided that it is a temporary problem, but she was wrong. Right now, Harold might have to sell their house to pay the debts.

No need to say that the dream of a great life for her and her husband had been shattered completely and Katya was devastated. So as she wakes up, she makes up her mind, today is the day when everything changes. She will take back her dreams, she will make it happen, at all costs. She will relieve her husband of that burden.
