A new hive mind is in town

Michael had just entered lab b6 of his high school science building, looking for where their next class was going to be.

As always their scatter brained teacher had neglected to mention which lab they would be using in his usual style there he was always preoccupied with his own experiments and just seemed to be teaching on a whim mostly. How the school still let him teach was a mystery to Micheal but sometimes that’s just how the world is.

This didn’t look like the right place becouse of the lack of people here, just a strange aquarium style container in the middle of the room with some strange fungus inside.

With strange machinery covering every wall and surface sourounding it.

What Micheal didn’t know was that this perticular lab was not supposed to be unlocked at all, and the contents of it was very dangerous. How it had ended up in a high school is a long story, but long story short, no other lab had managed to find a use for the strange and frankly mysterious fungus gh6845, and thus after many failed attempts to analyze it and use it, also with many strings pulled by a certain scatter brained professor it had ended up here, in a recently retro fitted high school lab.

Also on this day some frankly improbable and extremely unlikely scenarios were about to occur.

Micheal being for some reason extremely curious and drawn to the fungus decided that he was still going to be late so why not just take a closer look at the specimen.

Walking closer he saw the thing pulse briefly and extend a tendril towards the glass case as if sensing him, this not being normal at all for fungus species, made Micheal pause in his step.

“this is definetley not normal” he mumbled to himself but continued to creep forward step by cautious step.

After geting just a few inches from the glass all hell suddenly broke loose, and a massive power surge went through all the electronic devices nearby, creating a surge of charged electricity to jump out of the nearest machine and impact the glass, shattering it to a thousand pieces.

This explosion of glass covered Micheal in splinters while also cutting open small wounds all over his body.

Overhead could also be heard a robotic voice declaring to the room “energy overload detected, main system offline, backup system engaged. Protective case compromised, initiating queratine messures”

The doors and windows got suddenly sealed up with metallic blast shields lowered over them and a red omnius light was turned on automatically.

This all happened under a very small amount of time, but enough time for the fungus to spray Micheal with spores in his face, before a blast shield covered up the case and initiated a burn sequence destroying all the material inside the case.

Stumbling back Micheal clutched his face trying to swipe away the spores, however it was too late, the spores had already infiltrated his system and started to multiply inside him, binding to him down on a cellular level creating an unbreakable bond between them.

Feeling a burning sensation inside him he fell to the floor screaming, not knowing what was happening to him before blacking out.

The cameras having being overloaded missed this happening and would be the thing to release the new being upon the world.
