Lauren looked about. All around her were the faces of her guests, the maids and servers. They were jeering, laughing. Some women were aghast, though most just seemed amused. A few even had wicked smirks of satisfaction, as though they were watching someone receive their just deserts. She caught glimpses of her mother, her maid, and her sister, all grinning wildly. Her mother clearly had a phone filming in hand.

Then she saw Mark. Mark, Whom she had crushed on for years. Mark, who had been with her, then scorned her for her sister. Mark, who she was to woo back, to soothe her ego and get back at her sister (to say nothing of her growing physical need...). Mark was looking at her, but it wasn't the look of lust she'd expected. Instead, he had a superior grin of amusement. Instead of being aroused, or at least shocked, he was amused!

It was too much. Lauren whipped away, to escape. She took off running, pushing through the crowd, to escape.
