Chapter 3 by quiboune quiboune

With infinite gum at your disposal, how shall you use this power?

You need more experience. Cheat.

Before going in an adventure, you need to know how high you can fly before your wings melt, and after learning that you to find a way of flying even higher. To think that cheating how gum works is enough practice before trying to change the world was an act of arrogance, ignorance and innocence you are not willing to partake in. God, who was supposedly omniscient, admits He needs and wants to learn, why would Michael Hazelton think he's any better than the deity that created the universe he lives in?

You have to practice without ruining anything permanently, and why not do that while testing the limits of your power? Pulling from the memories of your many weeks wasted playing video games, you decide to make sure you'll be able to return in case anything goes wrong, in case you do anything you shouldn't or in case you just don't like how things turn out. Thinking of that you write your first real rules:

  • If at any moment I, Michael Hazelton, decide to return, am unable to continue on doing what I want to do permanently or one of my new rules is broken, the Universe will converge and reverse itself to this moment and the rules will be restored;
  • If the universe does return to this point in any way, I will be restored with the experience and knowledge gained in any of the possible alternatives;
  • Only I am capable of undoing these rules;
  • These rules shall be written in every strand of this universe along with my name, making me as its leader and tying its future to me. This rule will also receive this treatment.

That seems to be enough, at least for now. As soon as you close the notebook, distant memories of what feels like decades fill your mind.

In those memories you watch as you become a hero, bringing peace to the world as your fame causes fear in the minds of the evil ones, your powers growing immensely as you learn how to use them. Then you remember becoming a villain, and ruling over the nations as a dictator, and watching militias rising against you right before you crush them with powers they can't fathom. You die many times in proccess, never because of external forces, always because of your own mistakes. Sometimes the world you've created simply doesn't please you and you simply undo it.

With it comes knowledge, and you surpass the previous limits of your powers. You learn to write with your mind, and learn to change the laws of your universe with pure will. You learn also about your limits, fabricated by God to contain His creations, but you begin seeing flaws in His creations, flaws you could delve into, if you wanted.

You look around the room and test your body, noticing it works perfectly, just like it is supposed to. But now, instead of moving muscles stuck to a few hundred bones, you're bending space with your pure will. You can hear the birds singing, the cars honking, people talking, and in each atom of their matter you can read:

"Propety of Michael Hazelton ".

What to do?
