Truth

"Truth," you say. It's sure as hell safer than picking dare. You just know that the picture of Rainie will be all over campus by the end of the day, and you can't even imagine what Kayla is going to have to deal with when her TA answers that e-mail. Answering 'Truth' is just a plain-old good idea.

"See? Hayley is smart, like me," Natalie says. "Okay, have you ever been with a woman, and if so, who was it?"

Fuck. Picking Truth was a good idea as long as no one asked that question. You hesitate, considering lying. No, that won't work. These girls know you too well for that, they'll know if you're lying and then they'll just press you even harder. Does that mean you're going to have to tell the truth? Fuck, that's the point of the game, isn't it?

You consider looking over at Rainie but reconsider. They'll know what's up immediately. Of course, they're going to know what's up soon enough anyway.

This really could not have gone any worse, could it?

"Hayley?" Natalie says. "Come on, are you going to answer?"

"Well we know what the answer is now," Kayla says. "She wouldn't be taking this long if the answer was 'no.'"

You realize that it's been most of a minute, and all eyes are on you, including Rainie's. Her face has none of the fear on it that you feel and that you're sure must be showing. She looks almost pleased by this turn of events.
