The Good Morning After.

Your Aunt got up earlier than you the next morning, the sound of coffee being made in the kitchen stirring you out of the darkness behind your eyelids. You squinted at the time then closed your eyes. It was still a bit too warm and comfortable to leave and you shifted your shoulders in the couch. A few minutes later the alluring scent of hot coffee became too much and you got up too.

There was a cup waiting for you on the kitchen counter already, your aunt smiling on the other side with her own. You rubbed your eyes and brought it up, taking in the scent of it appreciatively.

"Thanks," you said, blowing at the steam before taking a sip.

You finished your coffee and wiped your mouth.

"It's alright, Aunt Les," you said. "Everybody does it. It's natural."

"I don't need The Talk from you," she said rolling her eyes. She looked to the clock and quickly took another sip of coffee before collecting up your empty mug. "We actually slept in a bit," she said, putting the cups into the sink. She wiped her hands on a hand towel. "Is your laptop still connected to the TV?"

You nodded, having left the whole setup there on the coffee table the night before. "Alright, let's go then," she said. You followed her obediently, surprised at how your aunt was adjusting to her new morning routine.
