Sophia Runs

The fog inched ever closer to Sophie, ready to envelop her. Sophie could hear muffled screams from the darkness in front of her.

Instincts kicked in and the girl bolted, just as Aron had told her too. She ran faster than she ever had before, burning her lungs and setting her heart at a dangerous, erratic rhythm.

She reached her car as the fog reached the parking lot. Open the door, keys in the ignition, twist.

For a second, her engine sputtered and Sophie sobbed in horror. Then the car came to life. She shot out of the parking lot and into the night having lost two friends.
