She meets another girl.

Just as Shuri reaches the bottom of the steps, she hears it. Movement. For a split second, panic seizes her and her grip tightens on the stick. Maybe it's not a safe house. Maybe it really is a trap.

Or at least, that's what she assumes out of her paranoia until she moves off of the final step onto the floor and spots a girl who's turned around, staring nervously in her direction. Shuri's heart slows down slightly, but she still keeps a tight grasp on the stick. The other girls are still competition, she reminds herself, but if she's going to share a safe house with one of them, it doesn't hurt to at least be civil. Even if she has no intention of working with any of them.

Shuri does recognize the girl, however. It's the scared Japanese American one from earlier who was the first to get a backpack, thrown at her unceremoniously by the host.

She lowers the stick to her side and extends her hand stiffly, trying to appear as dignified as one can while naked with a green backpack and a stick. "Hello, my name is Shuri," she introduces herself coolly and formally. "And yours?"

The girl blinks. "Uh. Kayo. It's, um, nice to meet you."

She blinks again and, apparently realizing how stupid that sounds, immediately clamps her mouth shut. Shuri's not sure whether to laugh or make a sarcastically cutting remark, so she does neither.

She looks around. The room itself is almost bare, rather well lit and stocked with two shelves across from a bed and nightstand with objects on it. One is lined with cans of food, a hand-operated can opener lying at the edge, and the other has...books. Books and magazines that look less like survival guides for the wilderness or anything useful and more like romance paperbacks and pornography.

Well, at least it's a safe house. Shuri lets out a long sigh. "So, when'd you get here? We only have five hours, don't we?"

"A few minutes ago," Kayo replies, her voice sounding guarded. She glances at the nightstand again, and Shuri realizes the objects are sex toys. She just stares. Dildos, vibrators, anal beads, butt plugs, more dildos...

"Of fucking course they'll keep reminding us what this game is about, even in the safe houses," Shuri mutters to herself. Kayo looks at her oddly, but Shuri turns away to prop her stick up against the wall and focus on the shelf with food. There's a variety of canned goods to go through, ranging from peaches and corn and baked beans to spam and chicken soup and sardines. Maybe if she looks around, there'll be something to eat them with. Spoons, forks, something to cook the meats with, bowls for soups...
