She's to believe.

Nicole's lips quivered.

Although she wanted to deny the reality of seeing a woman and her son morph together into this girl, denying it may also mean she'd never see her son again. This strange girl...no, monster believed that her son could be recovered so with little choice, how could she not believe?

Troubled, she could only slap away the girl's hand in fear causing the fusion to gasp a little.

"Mother..."

"Stop it! You're not my daughter!" Nicole snapped, unable to hide her new frustrations.

The fusion flinched and took a step back with a sad smile as she watched Nicole struggle with herself. After half a minute with nothing but the ocean sounding between them, the middle-aged woman opened her mouth as she calmed down a little.

"...I need some time to think. Whatever you are...don't spread a word about this and get changed at least."

The fusion pursued her lips in thought but figured she could use the time too in order to get her mind in order. She felt an instinctive connection to Nicole, but perhaps claiming to be her daughter was the wrong move.

"You're right," the fusion agreed before sighing.

Quickly slipping on Jane's bikini, Nicole stood on her own and brushed away any sand that stuck to her body. Her attention then focused on her son's swimming trunks that were left on the ground.

With a shaky breath, Nicole grabbed it and then faced the direction she came from where crowds of people could be seen in the distant. Thinking about her husband and daughters, she felt more troubled.

'I can't return to them like this. They wouldn't believe me even if I told them what happened!'

Furrowing her brows, Nicole stared at the ocean waters for a moment and took a glance at the fusion who was taking in the sensation of the sea breeze. It was unbelievable to think such a model-like human was the result of her son and that stranger.

First off, how could two humans literally fuse like that?

Secondly, what were those sudden memories that she could recall of Jane and her son?

She would have thought the fusion girl would have a better clue about all of this, but it appeared her coming into existence didn't give her any insight immediately.

Wanting to desperately find answers fast, Nicole tried to search through the very memories of her son and that woman. It scared her to have other people's perspective that wasn't her own, but she couldn't dwell on her own fear.

'Wait...what?'

Nicole's thoughts halted as she came across an unusual memory that happened recently. Even though her memories of Jane and Scott were varied, it seemed some important pieces managed to get through to her in that one touch while Scott and Jane were fusing.

'A...necklace? Who is that...woman? Oh Scott, what did you get yourself into!' Nicole cried in her mind. It only left her more confused, however, it was the best thing whether it was simply a hallucination from her son or not. The fact is that this happened before her son apparently passed out.

Focusing on the fusion female, she opened her mouth but stopped as she could see the girl holding up the same necklace. It appeared she started to think about it being the cause too.

"The necklace...might have done this," the fusion mumbled, but it was loud enough for Nicole to hear.

Nicole bit her lips. She had the thought to grab it and try destroying it, but she let her cooler side of the brain stop her. There was go guarantee doing anything with the necklace would return her son.

"Can't you meet that strange woman maybe? The one that Scott met before?"

The fusion blinked and staring at Nicole, she expressed surprise. "So you saw that too?"

Nicole grew rather impatient. "I don't know what I saw but I have some memories after I tried to pull my son away. If you know something, do it!"

The fusion frowned. "I...don't know anything though."

Nicole's hand shook. The longer she looked at this girl, the more she felt like her son was lost for good. While she wanted to stay calm, it was impossible when it came to harm over her family.

"Here, just let me have a look at it then!"

Nicole hastily walked closer to the woman and touched the necklace, ready to remove it from her neck.

The fusion grew surprised and felt like acting hastily wouldn't help. "Please wait! Let me at least take it off first-"

Her voice is cut off when the necklace shines brightly, nearly blinding her and Nicole's eyes. Both females remain frozen, fearing what might come next.
