Risky Boots - Ring of Truth

Captain Risky Boots leaned back against a thronelike chair that was looking more like some fancy art project than a chair, frustrated and clutching her head in her hands from a headache coming on.

All around her are her loyal mute minions, the tinkerbats, scampering around the large room looking for anything valuable. She worked hard telling her minions to layout the explosives on the door to this vault, and she has nothing in here yet to show for it.

This was a discovered vault that seemed impossible to crack to anyone of this tiny peninsula off of Sequin Land near Bandit Town, and she staked her claim by **** to obtain all the told goodies it holds. It would be untold, but there was always a brief glitchy introduction on the panel to the vault holding immense treasure that could be dangerous in the wrong hands, but the battery would then short out when anything else was inputted. Some tech from the old world that holds immense power and treasure? Why, that seems worthy of the Queen of the Seven Seas like herself!

Only to find the place filled with old-world junk! There was just an assortment of random knick-knacks that seem to hold no merit or obvious power of any kind! Not one magical lamp, not one diamond, not even a crown!

She watched the Tinkerbats fiddle with the various devices and trinkets to find anything actually worth something of value. Knocking over some weird box with spinning wheels on the face and a lever on one side of it, cracking a tossed black slate that claimed to be a blueberry according to the back of it. A camera-like box was dashed as she was confused on why a microphone was needed for a visual device. A large box with a black surface that claimed to be a “Master Piece-E” when a button was hit, now lying under a Tinkerbat’s foot as Master Pieces as it used it as a stepping stool, and one minion even throwing away some mere rock that was in a bowl with a sign saying “DO NOT TOUCH”…A ROCK! A rock is considered treasure here?! This was worse than that time she raided a dragon’s hoard, only to find it to be only a collection of hairbrushes. Stupid niche-loving dragons…

Just as she was about to huff and stomp back to the ship, frustrated by a waste of an afternoon endeavor and take a bath to calm herself down, a couple of the Tinkerbats on one of the upper platforms squeaks that he found something! Immediately, the purple-skinned pilferer ooh’ed in eagerness, “Well come on down, boys~ let’s see what you salvaged!“

The Tinkerbats jumped and slid down the walls on their claws in a dramatic fashion, landing in a roll at her feet, holding out a jewelry box that looks about the size to hold a ring. The other Tinkerbat opened it up with a flick, raising its arm in a fashion that says, “ta-dah!” while the other holds it out in proposal fashion.

Risky let a smirk be worn on her face. They may be simple minions, but when alone, they do know how to make her smile in a bad situation. “Oh, just a ring, is it? Well, I suppose one jewel in a vault is better than nothing~” She says as she plucks the thing from the case, giving it an appraising eye. It was an absolutely stunning piece to be sure; a polished golden ring with a single flawless amethyst laid in its band, and the ring size looks just perfect upon one of her slender fingers, and she couldn’t be sure, but it felt like it held a lot of magical energy to it, probably a natural sense she developed from working with a lot of genie related magic or something she picked up from her old boss.

She sighed resignedly and shrugged, tucking the ring in between her cleavage for now, “Well, I suppose it’s something for what was going to be a miserable excursion. Well, set the dynamite in the place, and let’s cast off, boys.”

As her ship sailed off from the little spit of land, a huge explosion was heard, and Risky in her quarters’ bathtub paid no mind to it as she twisted the ring in her fingers, wondering if she should try such a wonderful trinket on or not.

“Well, it would be a waste of good explosives to get it if I didn’t, but o the other hand, I really feel that I should test it for magical effects, just to make sure I know what I’m getting into. Don’t want to end up with something like that cursed bra a week ago…“ She shuddered at the memory.

“Then again, I could just test it for magic on that Half-Genie Half-Twerp of Scuttle Town. See if I can really have fun with her~ It’s on the way to the base, so I could make a stop since I haven’t attacked this month~”
