Chapter Ten: Founders Day
PETER:
With a meeting with the headmistress of The Beaumont Academy that morning, Peter found himself ready for the day ahead pretty early and had even made breakfast for Adrianna and Ryan who had joined him in the dining room to eat. It was halfway through their breakfast, the siblings were interrupted by Adam who walked in with Elsa.
"Miss Morgan is here to see you all," Adam announced before leaving.
"Elsa, you're up early," Peter said jokingly upon seeing his friend.
"Yeah, well, I had to see you all. To tell you guys something... I would have come earlier but you were out of town and I knew it was best to tell you guys together and I would like Jessica, Melody and Magnus here too but I don't know when they'd be here..." Elsa quickly explained only for Adrianna to get up and make her way over to the other redhead with a glass of water.
"Drink and slow down," Adrianna advised.
"Sorry, I'm just nervous," Elsa admitted as she drank the water. "Especially since I found out."
"Found out what?" Ryan curiously asked as Adrianna sat Elsa down next to her at the table.
"The truth. The truth about my heritage," Elsa admitted getting blank looks from the three siblings. "It turns out I'm not really Alistair Morgan's daughter..."
"Which means you're not our cousin..." Peter interrupted as he said his thoughts out loud.
"No, I'm not but I am your sister," Elsa revealed as she decided to rip the bandage off.
"What?" Elsa's half-siblings and adoptive sister all shouted in surprise upon hearing that revelation and Elsa rather began to explain, revealing everything her mother had told her and how Alistair had just found out and still accepted her.
"So, you're really our sister?" Adrianna said in disbelief and Elsa nodded in agreement.
"Did our Dad know?" Peter wondered.
"Mom said she didn't tell him but whether he found out on his own or figured it out for himself and just didn't tell her, I can't say..." Elsa answered before getting up from the table. "I understand this is a lot. You just found out your Dad had another affair and a kid. That you have a half-sister... I'll go... Give you guys some time to process all this..."
"It may be a lot for us but you, you just learnt the father you knew wasn't your father and one of your best friend's Dad is your true father... It must be overwhelming." Ryan told the redhead.
"Ryan's right," Adrianna agreed as she stood up from the table to walk across to Elsa. "It must be a lot, so if you need someone to talk to, I'm here," Adrianna told her before pulling Elsa in for a hug and laughingly adding. "Sister."
"Me too, sis," Ryan nodded in agreement as he too got up to join the two redheads in their hug. "Whatever you need."
"Yeah Elsa, you're family," Peter continued as he too, finally got up to hug his siblings. "I guess what we're trying to say is, welcome to the family."
JEROME:
Jerome turned over in his bed and felt the spot next to him was empty, slowly sitting up, Jerome realised Demi wasn't there but instead was standing in his bedroom getting dressed. Sitting up in his bed, Jerome looked at Demi who put her top back on and noticed Jerome was awake.
"Last night should never have happened," Demi told Jerome. "I can't believe I did that to one of my best friends."
"I know..." Jerome agreed as he thought about Zara. "Regardless of what she did with Adrian, I should... We should never have..."
"Then we both agree, we have to tell her," Demi told Jerome much to his surprise.
"I was going to say we never tell her." Jerome told her.
"Are you kidding me? Of course, we tell her! Secrets like this always come out. Just look at Peter and this Kai business. And you of all people should know what it’s like being cheated on," Demi reminded him as she thought of his ex-girlfriend. "So, you tell her or the next time I see Zara, I will," Demi warned the young teen before storming out of his bedroom.
Jerome then yelled in frustration before collapsing on his bed when he heard his phone ring. Sitting up to pick it up from the bedside table, Jerome saw the call was from Zara and was immediately reminded of Demi's warning.
Moving his finger to the click answer, Jerome was about to press the button when he also recalled Zara and Adrian kissing and upon remembering the kiss, he changed the direction of his finger and declined the call before throwing his phone onto the bed in annoyance.
DEMI:
After leaving Jerome and stopping by her house for a shower, change of clothes and breakfast, Demi climbed out of her car that morning and made her way up the path towards the house where she found a surprising sight of Peter's friend, Eddie already stood there waiting for the person on the other side of the door to answer.
"It's Eddie, right?" Demi greeted the young teen.
"Yeah and you're Demi, Peter's girlfriend," Eddie recalled.
"Ex-girlfriend now," Demi responded only to be interrupted by the sound of the front door opening and Alex stood there.
"Demi? Eddie? What are you both doing here?" Alex said in confusion.
"I was going to ask her the same thing," Eddie told Alex while looking at Demi.
"Funny cos I was going to ask you too but if I had to guess, Kai Russell." Demi deduced.
"Not bad," Eddie smiled. "Yeah, I'm here about Kai."
"Then we're in luck cos I'm here about Kai too," Demi revealed.
"I guess you both should come in," Alex told the pair as he led them into his own and towards his kitchen.
"So, you're looking into Kai?" Eddie questioned Demi.
"Guy tries to bury me alive, you really thought I wouldn't?" Demi sarcastically said to Eddie.
"He buried you alive?" Alex said in surprise.
"Yeah," Demi nodded. "He's not a fun guy."
"On that, we can all agree," Alex told them.
"So, what do we have?" Eddie questioned.
"Not much. After taking out Vincent Martin, Kai's been quiet. Not a peep," Alex informed Eddie. "No last knowns or anything."
"Maybe I can help. Like you guys now know, I've been looking into Kai and I might have something," Demi told them as she took out a file. "So, Redwater Times records have nothing on Kai before his eighteenth birthday. Everything about him starts from when he turned eighteen."
"The year when he came of age." Eddie realised.
"Which got me wondering, why can't we see anything before then unless he was being protected..." Demi explained.
"Why would he be protected unless..." Eddie tried to guess before realising. "Child protective services."
"He could have been in the system," Alex realised. "Which is something I can get into," Alex said with a smile as he made his way over to his laptop.
NATHAN:
"The Redwater Dragons are interested in you?" Claire said in disbelief once Nathan finished telling her about the offer he might have. "And if they give you an offer, are you going to take it?"
"I dunno. Ideally, I would say yes but it's different when it's hypothetical and when it's there but one thing I do know is that I'm actually considering saying no." Nathan admitted.
"What? Why?" Claire shouted as she stood up in surprise.
"Because of you," Nathan told her.
"Nathan, don't turn this down because of me. I know how big of an opportunity this is for you. How many great basketball stars are in the Redwater Dragons... Think about this." Claire sternly told him.
"I have and that's what thinking about it has led me to. Claire, I love you and I know you want to go to Redwater University, get big one day and have a successful career and I want to see all of that, no scrap that, I want to be there by your side for that. Not in Rayton Heights..."
"Nathan..." Claire softly said.
"And besides we've already made plans, remember? We're getting an apartment with the Sirens. We've both been accepted into Redwater Uni and the Redwater Hawks are a good team." Nathan reminded her.
"But they're not as good as the Redwater Dragons! I know you want to be there by my side, watching my career take off one day but baby, I want to do the same for you. So, if the offer comes then, seriously consider taking it. We'll work everything else out together." Claire reassured her boyfriend.
"You won't quit about this, will you?" Nathan realised as Claire sat down on his lap.
"In the same way, you would never if the roles were reversed." Claire smiled.
"Then... If the offer comes, I will consider taking it." Nathan told her.
"That's all I ask," Claire told him as she leaned in for a kiss.
PETER:
"Wow, this place is amazing," Adrianna said in disbelief upon looking around The Beaumont Academy while waiting in the foyer of the school.
"It's definitely no Redwater City High School." Peter agreed with Adrianna.
"Well, what do you expect, only the finest for the academically gifted." Ryan sarcastically added.
"Private schools are always like that," Peter commented as he thought about the private school he had attended last year.
It was then that the trio was interrupted by the sounds of footsteps and turned to see a woman who had greying, brown hair, blue eyes, medium-sized breasts and a curvy ass. She wore a cardigan with a skirt.
"Mr Grayson, Mr Grayson and Miss Cabot, welcome to The Beaumont Academy, I'm Andrea Beaumont." The woman introduced herself.
"Hi, I'm Adrianna and that's Ryan and Peter," Adrianna told her as she shook Andrea's hand with Ryan doing the same.
"Pleasure to meet you, Miss Beaumont," Peter said as he followed Ryan in shaking Andrea's hand however upon having contact with Andrea's hand, Peter winced as he saw flashes of his parents, Kai sat in a prison cell, Grayson Manor burning and Adrianna kissing him passionately on the lips.
"Are you alright, Peter?" Adrianna worriedly asked him.
"I'm fine, AC. What was that?" Peter spoke to the redhead before looking at Andrea who was unfazed.
"Time," Andrea calmly answered but turned around. "But you didn't come all the way here to discuss that. Follow me."
Peter, who was still confused, watched as Andrea slowly began to walk and after once again making sure he was okay, Ryan and Adrianna followed, leaving Peter with **** but to follow, walking down the hallways until finally, they reached Andrea's office where she offered them a seat.
"So, Magnus has disappeared," Ryan spoke out loud once they were all seated. "Any idea on where he is?"
"I'm afraid not," Andrea answered. "I should warn you this is not the first time he has done something like this, he's taken off multiple times before..."
"Then why are you telling us now?" Adrianna wondered.
"This time looks to be more permanent. He's taken his things with him," Andrea revealed. "And this seems to be the most recent of his troubling behaviour."
"What do you mean?" Peter asked.
"In the last year, he's not been the best student. I'm talking about fights, profanity in class, unruly behaviour, blatant disrespect to staff..." Andrea listed.
"Last year... You mean ever since Mom and Dad..." Adrianna realised and Andrea nodded in agreement.
"We assumed that was the reason. His behaviour changed when he came back after their funeral. We thought it was a phase, how he was coping with his loss, so we agreed to let him act out, hoping it would help him heal but I guess not," Andrea sadly spoke. "Dustin and Mera were loved here and not just because of the donation they would give. They understood the need for education, I feel their loss... I could never imagine what their children would feel..."
"Do you know where Magnus could be?" Peter questioned.
"We've tried to keep an eye on him while he has been here but you should know since he stayed here year-round, during the summer and winter vacation, he's hung around people that are not a good influence. I did try to break him from that crowd, hoping he would see the truth about them but alas, I was not successful." Andrea sadly spoke.
"It wasn't your responsibility, Miss Beaumont. We should have made a better effort. He's our brother, he was our responsibility," Ryan told her. "We should have made more of an effort. I guess we didn't cos we thought he was happy here."
"He was before everything. Before Dustin and Mera..." Andrea told them.
"Well, we appreciate everything you tried to do and thank you for letting us know," Peter told her. "We're gonna try and look for him ourselves..."
"We might know a few places where he could be," Adrianna added.
"And if we can't find him," Ryan continued. "We'll let the police know."
"Is anyone else feeling kind of weird about these three summoning us here?" Asa asked the group while looking at Eddie, Alex and Demi who were standing in the library of Grayson Manor where everyone had gathered.
"Yeah, I didn't even know you knew each other," Elsa added as she looked at Eddie and Demi.
"It's more of a new friendship. We sort of met each other this morning." Demi told them.
"Ahem, you said you had something to tell us." Peter coughed to get them back on track.
"Right, we looked into Kai Russell," Demi revealed.
"Is that what you've been doing lately?" Sara questioned and Demi nodded in agreement.
"The guy might use us to get to Peter, not a bad idea to get info on him," Kira responded.
"So, what did you learn?" Both Nathan and Jerome asked at the same time.
"This is Malachai Russell," Alex said as he showed them his laptop screen. "Only he was born as Malachai Laughlin."
"Laughlin?" Hollie said in confusion.
"We didn't have any records of him before he was eighteen..." Eddie began to explain. "So, we thought..."
"Child protective services." Zara interrupted.
"Exactly." Demi smiled.
"So, what did you find?" Claire questioned.
"Kai Laughlin was born and raised in Rayton Heights. Came from a reputable family that was doing well for themselves," Alex explained. "Until..."
"Until what?" Amelia asked curiously.
"Their home was robbed when Kai was eight. Five guys broke in to rob the place, must have thought it was empty but when they learnt it wasn't one of the guys shot both of Kai's parents. Kai was hiding in the bathroom where he witnessed it all." Eddie informed them.
"That's terrible," Elsa gasped. "Who could do something like that?"
"Kai apparently got a good look at one of them and did confirm it wasn't the shooter but did sit with a sketch artist," Alex said as he pulled up a sketch on his laptop screen. "Redwater City PD could never identify him."
"That's my Dad," Hollie said in surprise upon seeing the sketch.
"Told you guys," Eddie said to Demi and Alex.
"Which explains his feud with Jay and why he targeted him." Ryan realised.
"Kai was put in a children's home after all that went down. Good kid, decent grades..." Alex told them.
"Then how does he become how he is?" Sara wondered.
"Maybe we can find out?" Peter suggested. "I'm busy today but I could make a trip down to Rayton Heights?"
"Sounds like a plan." Eddie agreed.
"Good work, guys," Peter added with a smile while looking at the trio.
NATHAN:
Leaving Grayson Manor together, Nathan drove himself and Claire down the winding roads of Redwater, the couple enjoying each other's company as they sang along to the song on the radio. It was while they ended up stuck in traffic, Claire found herself scrolling across her phone and let out a blood-curdling scream that nearly caused Nathan to crash as the traffic started moving.
"Babe, what is it?" Nathan asked in fear as he quickly parked the car on the side upon seeing his girlfriend's shocked face.
Exiting her reverie, Claire thrust her phone into Nathan's hand allowing him to look. "That video of the Sirens Elsa made, it's trending..." Claire said in disbelief.
"It's not just trending, babe," Nathan said as he held up Claire's phone. "It's right at the top, number one."
Claire quickly grabbed the phone out of Nathan's hand to take a look at herself. "The likes and the reposts are in the thousands. The views hit a million, a few minutes back. Oh my God! I can't believe this!" Claire shouted excitedly.

Eddie stood in the warehouse watching as the members of the Quadrant unloaded the truck while a man with has pale, white skin with black hair, grey eyes and a muscular-build stood next to him as he also watched with a smile on his face.
"I wasn't expecting the shipment this soon," Eddie commented.
"Well, you and Mr Grayson seemed to have made an impression on my brother," Elias Harrington responded. "Jack wanted to thank you both for your help too."
"It was our pleasure," Eddie replied. "And now that we're working together, anytime you need us."
"I will take that into consideration," Elias nodded. "I should go. I only came to oversee the transportation and it seems you have it under control here. Just one word of advice, pay on time at the end of every month or else you will have my family to deal with."
PETER:
Peter that evening found himself in the Oldtown Square with his friends and family as they enjoyed the festivities of the Founder's Day celebrations. Making his way through some of the stalls and carnival games with his friends and family it was halfway through the night when the announcement was made and the founding families consisting of the Grayson, Morgan, Cavanaugh, Fell, Drake, Weston and Fallon families made their way onto the stage to take a photo for the town records.
Following the picture, the live band the city hired that evening took to the stage and Peter found himself watching as his friends danced with their dates for the evening. Turning away to get a drink, Peter found his ex-girlfriend, Kaley also getting a drink and the young redhead seemed happy to see him.
"I thought you'd be dancing?" Kaley commented.
"Oh, I don't dance," Peter responded. "And besides I don't even have a partner."
"Now that's not true. I'm certain there is a line of girls just waiting to get a chance to dance with you,” Kaley told her. “I know they were when we were dating.”
"That was a long time ago and we were young then,” Peter told her. “And everyone else will have to keep waiting," Peter told her. "Especially since I said, I don't dance."
"Maybe you just need someone to teach you?" Kaley seductively suggested.
"Are you offering?" Peter said with a curious look while eyeing his ex-girlfriend.

Ryan and Amelia continued to slow dance along to the song while staring deep into each other's eyes until finally the song reached a close and ended. Having had enough of dancing, the couple then parted from one another and together made their way off the dancefloor and got refreshments from a stall nearby.
"Thanks, babe," Amelia said to Ryan as she took the drink and kissed him on the cheek.
"Ooooh, someone's in love!" A voice interrupted, causing the couple to look up and see Amelia's younger sister, Natalie Paige standing there with the rest of Amelia's family.

"Ryan, it's good to see you again," Malcolm meanwhile spoke as the sisters began to trade quips and insults at one another and instead decided to speak to his daughter's boyfriend. "How's the job at Nico's?"
"It's going well, Mr Paige... Nico knows his cars, that's for sure." Ryan answered.
"Not like me. You ever want to know and see real experience, my doors are always open, kid." Malcolm said with a grin.
"Don't tell me you guys are talking about cars now?" Amelia interrupted.
"Busted," Ryan said as he held his hands up.
"Come on, babe," Amelia said as she took Ryan's hand in hers. "Let's get out of here before my Dad steals you away."
SARA:
Sara and Alex danced with one another as they stared deeply into each other's eyes and the couple swayed along to the music and it was just as Alex twirled Sara, Sara caught sight of Peter talking to his ex-girlfriend, Kaley Simmons. "Yeah, me too," Alex softly agreed. "It's been a long day and I'm not much of a dancer either. How about we call it a night?"
"Maybe not just yet..." Sara seductively suggested. "I'm sure there are other things we could do before the night is over."
"Sounds fun." Alex smiled.

"This night has been fun," Eddie commented as he and Elsa walked away from the booth and down the path.

"It turns out Peter's not my cousin, he's my brother," Elsa revealed.
