Chapter 171 by [KingDucky] [KingDucky]

What's next?

Wolkengeburt

You fell from the sky.

Landing skillfully on the Grass as The Nox cleared a path for you. You walked along towards the centre of the group where Belle bled her fiendish father dry.

"You are slipping, sweetling..." The Voice was tender, gentle, and the woman who spoke them, floating beside you, her black hair writhing under her top hat as she twirled her cane.

You continued walking, Cain's ethereal body moving with you as You thought,

"GET OUT OF MY HEAD."

Cain chuckled darkly "Look at you. held together by tape... Your combination with King Dracula was too far rushed... another hour with all of his bloodlust running through your veins and little Chippy will be reduced to nothing than a snarling beast." Her low chuckled cut into you, but you tried hard to hold strong.

"LEAVE US ALONE."

"Tut-tut, I already gave you your time without me, Charles, it was with great difficulty that I navigated to this dimension so that this shard could meet with you... and you have been reaping the benefits of my blood far too long. it is time for a return in value, with interest." Cain stared with her golden eyes.

You tried your best to ignore it, moving towards Belle as her hands crushed deep into her dying father's flesh "I am warning you, Mr Drake... this is but a taste of the madness that will come should you not give yourself unto me... Do not choose thoughtlessly-" You batted the phantom away, watching her puff into smoke as You grasped Belle's shoulder.

"Belle... BELLE, that is enough. Isabelle!" You wretched her draws free of the corpse, Ivan's cold corpse falling dead to the ground, and Belle's glazed over eyes as tears fell down her cheek, joining the already massive stains of blood that coated her mouth and face. You looked into her eyes "You stop... when the heart stops."

Recognition seemed to flood into her gaze... and she latched unto you, holding you close as she sobbed into your chest... not uttering a single word, the Nox standing with you and sharing her mourning.

Sound ripped through the woods. Turning from Belle, your claws tightened, eyes blazing as You readied for a fight, the spinning sound accompanied by a bright disc that shot towards you.

The Nox hardened ready for battle but you held out your arms "Easy, easy... She's a friend, just don't provoke her." You warned as the Nox hesitantly stood down.

The Rapidly spinning mass of silver shot up 15 meters into the air, the pure kinetic power in her spinning dissipating mid-air before plummeting into an elegant slide, her dark form arising into a strange hunched gate.

Her Rabbit mask stared ominously as Her arms and legs gleamed, The Nox tensed at her approach, a few grimacing as they prepared for a fight _"Stand down." _You commanded, pushing a few of them aside as a hand grabbed you.

Muninn stared fearfully through her Mask "Charlie... that's... that's the Black Rabbit... she's the deadliest Monster hunter in the world. You can't trust her." She whispered desperately.

"She's also got really good, hearing." The Rabbit called as she drew closer.

Grinning at Moonie, you removed her hand and gave her a reassuring look "I think I'll be safe."

As Muninn tilted her head in confusion, You rocked up to your Aunt who gave you a loving tap "No hugs my dear... I don't want to accidentally cut you into ribbons." Hilde said as she pulled away at her mask to reveal her mature beauty.

The Noxium burst into mumbles as You grinned darkly "What brings you here Aunt Hilde? not just to watch my friends quiver in their boots I hope?"

Hilde cast a suspicious eye to your Vampire comrades but shook her head "No... although now that You mention it..."

Remhilde went to march towards the Nox, who flinched at the sight, only to be stopped by your hand which sizzled painfully on her silver-wrapped shoulder "Ow... leave them be, for me?"

Your aunt pushed back her black hair, the golden orbs settling on your inquisitively "You should not have gone into that chamber..." She whispered "You have no idea how different you look and feel. Are you even in control?"

The shadows rumbled inside a reminder of how the storming rage continued to push you closer towards cracking.

"Yes." You lied.

Hilde's look changed to one of concern "You are unstable, more unstable than I thought possible, you need to rest, Chippy-"

"I DO NOT NEED TO REST." You found yourself growling.

Aunt Hilde was taken aback slightly but remained silent as You tried to collect yourself.

"I-I'm sorry... just... why have you come?" You tried to sound soft, harmless, it couldn't be further from the truth.

Hilde scratched the shaved side of her hair in thought as if calculating some unknown odds, but she eventually seemed to settle on just speaking clearly "I have concluded my business. I know the current location of the Knight of Flesh."

The Breeze brushed by your ears, rank with the smell of blood and the long undisturbed musk of the graves, it was a serene moment, the eye of the storm, where you saw clearly for the first time, the path to your vengeance... Looking back to the Noxium, who stirred under your gaze, and peering at your hands, the smouldering shadows that arose from your pours still steadily burning.

You couldn't go now, you couldn't take the Noxium... Remhilde had said it herself, People that You hated and loved, would die before the end... Now was not the time, you couldn't go, you couldn't, you knew this, you were not ready, you had to say no... but that moment of serenity quickly passed and when you spoke...

"Take me to her. Now." You growled.

Remhilde watched you carefully "Do you truly believe yourself or your compatriates ready?" She asked.

"I don't care if we are. The Noxium will remain here... and I will confront her."

"Boss that sounds like a really bad idea!" Huginn called, pulling away at his Pepsi mask and brandishing his stopwatch "This is not exactly a time of fortune... wasn't it always the plan for us to help you?"

Your aura shimmered as others nodded in agreement "Master, you can't do this by yourself... let us go with you!?" Belle cried, rushing towards you as the others went to follow.

You held out a barring hand "YOU WILL NOT FOLLOW ME. THAT IS A COMMAND, ANY WHO TRY WILL BE KILLED." The order swept through them, pushing them back from you.

"Master! please do not go! please don't you will die!" Belle screamed as she fell to her knees "I can't lose you too, please Master I'm begging you-"

"I have been a fool." You whispered to them all "to drag you all into this petty ****. Diana... she will guide you now, forget about me."

"Ch-charlie... *Pop Pop* this is suicide! the Manor is finished... we were going to surprise you... You can't just throw it all away!?" Muninn pleaded.

Cleo gripped her arms self-consciously, her dark eyes settling on you "Lord Nox... Charlie. Don't." The Goth asked softly.

You looked upon them all, maybe for the last time... your great clan to be, and you smiled "Good luck, My friends."

Marching away into the woods, you heard Belle yelping to try and follow you, restrained by the other Nox and your command, Remhilde's heavy Silver boots made no sound as she moved deftly beside you "Are you sure that is all you have too say, all the amends you have to make?"

You nodded "Rip the bandaid off... Just like dad always used to say. Now... where is she?" You commanded.

She looked at you uncertainly but eventually whispered: "The Ruins to the southwest..."

"the Wolkengeburt ruins? near the river?" You asked coldly.

She nodded "Yes-"

Your body whipped like a thunderclap through the woods, sending yourself into a deadly fast sprint that made the trees into a blur, your shadowy aura streaking behind you.

Remhilde grunted, clutching her stomach as she coughed painfully, though her legs dipped into the ground as she pulled her arms back "...Nimici" another fierce calp blasted through the woods, as Remhilde shot like a bulled into an insane sideward spin, blasting through the trees and grass like a rocket as she matched your speed, so fast that to the naked eye she was nothing but a ring of gyrating ****.

Together you and the cyclone of **** that was your Aunt boomed through the woods, streaking around the Blackwoods around to the west, crossing miles in seconds, defying the laws of velocity as you trekked around the city towards the Southwest hills.

Though something... or someone gave you pause. Skidding against the dirt you halted to the stop, staring with bleeding eyes as the Redheaded woman stared with her blue eyes, blocking your path "Beloved." She muttered.

"Rosie..." You said smiling darkly "Remhilde... she's tracked down Valerica, I can finally take my ****, Come on." You growled as Remhilde burst back into her normal form, sliding to a halt beside you.

Rose looked behind you "You left your clan behind." She said coldly "You cannot face her alone."

"I am not alone, I have you and Hilde, we can do this." the bloodlust was growing, overtaking your sense.

Rose shook her head "If just the three of us go, then we will die." She whispered.

Your face scrunched up with rage "THEN STAY HERE, REMHILDE AND I WILL DO THIS OURSELVES!" You roared. Your Aunt placed a hand on your shoulder "God damn it Hilde let's just go-"

This was not a warning hand... this was a depending one, She was kind of hunched over, her face pale as snow, and her breaths shallow "...Just, give me a moment." it sounded like she was trying to inhale through a tube, and you quickly grabbed her as she nearly keeled over, violent coughs forcing out of her as sprays of blood followed.

"Holy shit are you okay? what's happening? Jesus your heart is... it's so slow..." You were wrapped in panic, whipping the blood from her lips as she wheezed.

But Remhilde pushed you back, wobbly holding herself standing "I... Am fine, I'm fine... I just need a short rest *Cough cough cough... inhale* I... I'll be fine."

She looked like she was about to pass out, delirium flashing in her eyes "The Hell you are, what is this? Tell me?"

Hacking and spitting the blood in her mouth away, she smiled at you grimly, blood staining her teeth "This? oh it's just... over a hundred years of... exhaustion, I'll just sit for a minute and we will go."

"You need to stay here, I'll go-"

Remhilde gripped your shirt tightly, sneering "No. This is as much my Kill as it is yours... She killed my brother."

You nodded, narrowing your eyes, and feeling the weakened state of her mind "Yes, and I won't lose you either. Sleep."

Her knees gave out, holding you tightly as she gritted her teeth at you, she had a lot of fight "D-Don't you dare.... Charlie."

"_Sleep." _You repeated, pushing more and more of your will into her, until eventually, her eyes closed and she fell into unconsciousness.

Rose watched as you carried your Aunt over to a soft patch of grass, as set her down there to rest.

"Beloved. I can feel your thoughts, if we fight her two on one then we will lose."

You turned to her snarling "Just- Stay out of my head, Rosie! I have to do this, nobody else has to die... I'll kill her, even if it costs me my ****."

Rose's eyes watched you carefully "Is that really all that You want?"

You nodded... though you weren't sure why, you weren't sure why you were doing anything anymore, you weren't the one at the wheel anymore. "You are either staying here or coming with. Are you with me?" You growled.

She frowned, her eyes flooding with red, but she eventually nodded "Always."

Casting one last look at your slumbering Aunt, you dug your feet into the grass and shot off again, Rose following close behind, as You travelled with haste to the Wolkengeburt Ruins.

You knew these Ruins by proxy, just snippets from when you would eavesdrop... from your father. He was making an effort to research the place and from what you gathered, the Place was an old fort built by German-British a long time ago, some said that the place was haunted, some said that it was cursed, but all knew that going there was strickly prohibited until your dad fought to get in there for study, the connection was of course made in your mind, whatever your father knew must have been what Valerica wanted, maybe even why she killed him. But that didn't matter to the Monster in your skin, it would only be a few moments before you arrived, and then you would have your ****.

"Have caution, she would have sensed us already. laid traps." Rose warned.

As the two of you snapped into a halt, pausing at foot of the hill, you looked up the shadowed sky, shrouded in the black clouds as the Moon burned red. droplets of rain began to fall from the sky, landing on your cheeks.

These droplets were not the clear water that one might expect, but thick and heavy, and scarlet as blood. Rose looked at you as you stared at the shadowed structure above "There was a story..." She spoke as you both moved carefully up the hill, "In my homeland, of the Purest and his fate... of how He will be borne twice, die twice, and be reborn twice, the soul of two made one, baptised in the tears of a bleeding moon..."

You remained silent as she looked at you, stalking through the trees as Wolkengeburt came into view.

The Sky rumbled as the ruined fortress stood above you, it's dark bricks slithering with moss and veins, parts of its tall circular tower were crumbled and scared, eroded to its bones, so that it's foundations barely stood. You stated at the skeleton of this place, it's ruined double doors ripped from their hinges, and as your feet came to touch on the dirt-mixed gravel, Lightning ruby red struck against the sky and in its flash, was a figure, stood patiently just in front of those door.

Valerica's crimson eyes stared expectantly, her cold smile followed by the thunderous rumble that screamed from the sky.

The Droplets of blood-rain fell on her pale face, and seeing you both there, she raised an arm and beckoned you girlishly.

When the next bolt of red hammered in the sky again, she was gone, doubtlessly into the Ruined fortress where she wanted you to follow.

Rose took your hand "This is bad." She whispered.

"Because of a trap, murderous intent?" You asked.

Rose shook her head "Because she does not seem hostile at all."

Pushing your drenched hair back, you snarled darkly, stepping forward towards the Fort, ready to kill.

Slipping past the ruined doors, you entered the structure, to find nothing but what might be expected. Mouldy chairs were broken to splinters, bits of furniture devoured by the elements; greenery and moss had invaded the place.

But Valerica was not here... however, untouched by the desolation, was a large, wooden trap door, that hung open in invitation "Beloved... this... this is foolish..."

You ignored her, uncaring of her nervousness, there was only desperation to see Valerica's face as you ripped out her heart, and so you moved towards the trap door, but found yourself unable to cross the threshold, you growled angrily, but a voice called out.

"Come on in lover-boy."

The Supernatural barriers fell away and you prepared to walk down the short steps into the lower levels. But Rose grabbed you again, staring desperately now... he mouth opened as if she were going to speak, but then closed them again as she looked into your Pure-red eyes. "Whatever happens. I love you."

You frowned a little, nodding "I love you too." But you had to get this done, no more delays. You stepped down, into the lower levels.
