Chapter 134 by [KingDucky] [KingDucky]

Rule one: Never follow a Monster Bitch into dark woods.

Mr Copper & Miss Fluffy-Ears

Daisy strode through the Dark woods on her long legs, Jacob kept a ways behind her, for which she was grateful... Daylight would be coming soon she could feel it, and in the Night's exodus, she could banish the monster inside.

She remembered these woods, remembered dancing with her people around the bonfires, calling to the dark one's of the forest, to Ogun and Sobo and Black Papa Legba, to spread whispers through New Orleans, for riches and gold and eldritch songs that crept from the Bayou... but that was all a long time ago now... such long time ago...

Daisy paused, they had come through the wet grass into a clearing, where the Moonlight illuminated the mud and damp grass, revealed in its centre were two animals, lying dead amidst the subtle layer of pale fog.

She frowned sadly, moving towards the two creatures which were draped in a Misty shawl. "Copperhead snake... and a Doe... white-tail..." She thought, looking at the Long warped body of the beautifully scaled viper, and the short furred Doe, it's noble form, oak brown fur on its rear that traced up and lightened into a snowy white, reduced to a seized up corpse on the ground... it broke her heart.

"M-Miss Teresa... what are you doing?" Jacob asked, circling around to look as Daisy knelt down to run her hands across the Circle patterned scales of the snake, and the Soft coat of the deer "-Don't touch them, You don't know where they've been!?" He protested, but Daisy scoffed, looking over their bodies.

"I know exactly where they have been... the woods... I know how they died, the Doe accidentally stumbled on the snake, the snake bit her, the Doe trampled him to ****... and she died from the venom right after." She could feel the lingering of their souls, just grasping on the precipice, they would be in Limbo soon, as horrible as it was Animals didn't have much of an afterlife, hence why she felt little guilt in doing what she was going to do.

"How could you know that?" He asked curiously, Daisy looked at him with Her good eye, the Violet shimmering in the darkness

"I can... feel souls, it's complicated. I umm, I'm going to do something, just stay back, I might mess this up it's been a while." Daisy's whisper echoed among the trees and Jacob gulped as He stood further back.

Daisy dove into her small purse and she was thankful to find her lip gloss. She painted the symbols on her hands, the 8 sided star on each palm, she clapped her hands, the sound reverberating through the dark, her whispers followed, slithering through the mists, piercing the moonlight like sharp antlers, her words burned into the flesh of her palm, one that she welcomed, even as the flames began to grow around her fingers, the crimson fire growing until it consumed both her hands and the Stars on her palms were white as sunlit marble.

"JESUS DAISY, YOUR HANDS ARE ON FIRE!"

"Shhh. Please." She mumbled, resuming the incantation and pressing her palms to the heads of both beasts "I call you back to Earthen Soil,
to be re-bound to Mortal coil,
And though your living life is done,
Walk with me: my rising Sun."

The Fire invaded, sunk deep into their skulls, inflaming their flesh, entangling the ribs, fueling the heart until they began to beat one's again... Red sparked in their eyes, burning scarlet as the snake began to slither and the Doe wobbled to its feet, the two looking to her with an... undying affection.

Daisy smiled, stroking the two lovingly as she muttered: "In Crimson flame, You shall remain so that your hearts can beat again."

Jacob seemed more than a little startled, mouth agape as He stared at the two "Bruh..." He said, his fascination outweighing his fear, moving forward on shaking legs.

She smiled at him "You can pet them you know, they won't harm you." She said gently. Jake stepped forth, looking at the doe and the burning star that shone on its forehead, He saw the burning in its eyes, and He touched it, the beast nuzzling into his palm as He smiled.

"S-So what? you're a Necromancer?" She asked as they walked along, the Snake slithering and the Doe trotting behind them

"It's not Necromancy, exactly, it's more... eugh.." Daisy clutched her stomach as it churned unpleasantly "-just, keep back a little, S-Sorry, You are starting to smell like caviar." She muttered, Jacob, scooting back over as she tried to ignore her mouth salivating.

Along they went, Jacob practically burrowing holes in Daisy's back as they went along "Y-You know... Daisy..." He shuffled back closer to her, but the sky was lightening and her hunger was subsiding slightly, only slightly mind you, his axe body spray was starting to make his whif taste peaches on her tongue "D-Do you... like gumbo?"

"Gumbo?" She wondered

"Y-Yeah, because... well, My grandmama taught me how to make it with her recipe, it really hits the spot, if you'd be up for it?" He smiled nervously at her... it was kind of a cute smile, and she wondered if he was a fit as He looked, if there was muscle under those baggy close, flesh and tissue juicy and ripe for the bite. Daisy bit her lip, trying to bury the monster and put on her prettiest smile while hiding her eye.

"Are you asking me on a Date, Mr Mathews?" Her voice was girlish, though not without the rolling growl that the blood had brought out in her, but He didn't seem to mind, chuckling as he scooted closer

"Well My dad always said that if you got a big fish on the line then you reel it in-" Jacob laughed, but as He knocked her playfully, Daisy caught another whiff of him, making her grunt as she pulled back slightly. He seemed a little crestfallen after that, walking quietly with her though keeping a safe distance.

"Y-You ask strange Necromincer Bog Witches out often, Tiger?" The hit at charm was probably dulled after growling at him, but He relaxed a little, brushing his frizzy black hair back and grinning

"I'm usually not very popular with most ladies so..."

"Oh, just Creppy lofty 50's girls then?" She chuckled, Jacob scoffed "What? say it aint so, I'm freakishly tall and weird and strange, just like my mama used to say." She hated her mama sometimes, but sometimes she loved her... she did miss her, however horrible she could be sometimes compared to Madam Laveau.

Jacob paused, and so did she, the Snake stopped slithering and the doe stood still on her fine hoofs, and even though they were dead, they looked less distraught then "Are you serious?" He said half-seething "You. are the most beautiful woman, that I have ever seen. Hands down, like I've never even seen Purple eyes before, they are just... dazzling, You are just dazzling."

Daisy's lip quivered, her chest thumped, she tried not to let her face crumble up but failed disastrously as her eyes welled, Jacob's eyes widened, watching Daisy sniffle "Oh my god, no don't cry..." He pleaded

"No-No... *Sniff* That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me." she wiped her eyes, straightened out and smiled in earnest this time "You know, I would love to have a diner date with you, Jake... I just need to visit My Mama's grave first, I promised."

He rubbed his hairless chin "Well, it's usually watched at night, I have no idea how we are going to get in-"

"Oh don't worry about that. I can handle it."

It was not long before they emerged from the small wooded area, weaving out into the edge of New Orlean's active street. She recognized where she was against all odds... they were quite ways away and had to travel through Central city where doubtlessly many eyes would see them, She didn't like the thought of it, she was barely dressed for a walk on the town! and of course, Her new friends couldn't be seen moving along the bustling street.

Daisy turned to her friends, crouching by them as they moved over to nestle her lovingly, She smiled rubbing their scaly and fluffy head's respectively "I wonder what Your names are..." She muttered, lowering her ear as better to hear them.

She had always had a way with animals, more so than humans or... monsters for that fact, but hearing the living was difficult as they clung desperately unto life so desperately that it disrupted her thoughts, but the dead, the dead were always very clear "Mr Copper! I love it! you are a cutie aren't you!" Daisy grinned, stroking the snake, who's flaming eyes softened with appreciation.

"What about you, Madam, I bet you have a sweet little name tucked away in there, come on you can tell me!" She said to the Doe who's star-brand shone with the sinister light of the sun.

Jacob rubbed his wrists "Better add Necromancer Disney Princess to the list of weird shit." He thought as He watched Daisy grimace at the dead doe

"Young Lady! I am not calling you that, honestly, a lady of your standing should be more decent-no no don't give me that, how shameful... right I guess I'll give you a name, a decent one!" Daisy rubbed her chin as the Doe let out a sharp irritated breath, Daisy lit up however a lightbulb sparking in her mind "How about Miss fluffy-ears, oooh yes that is way cuter... alright miss fluffy-ears, Mr Copper is gonna come with me, but I need you to and get some of your friends and meet me at St Louis Cemetery, can you do that?"

The Doe... Miss Fluffy-ears, huffed shaking her head as she clopped her hoofs on the wet grass.

Daisy folded her arms, narrowing her eyes at the doe "I am not showing favouritism, look, we can talk about your name later, just please do this for me, then... I can call you whatever you like, okay?"

Miss Fluffy-ears huffed again from her black nose, but eventually nodded, spinning around on her light hooves as she traipsed off back into woods.

Daisy got to her feet, Jacob almost swore that the blonde's disapproving mother look was even more potent than his grandmama's "Good lord, back in my day, Deer were so much more graceful than that girl, how the times change." She muttered before turning back to a clearly very weirded out Jacob

"So... You can talk to dead animals?" She saw his **** to believe the fact, Daisy shrugged at him shyly

"I can talk to all animals actually, it's just easier to initiate communion with the dead is all." She said rubbing her knuckles.

Jacob gave her a weak smile, allowing his reservations to melt away "That is kinda cool, I won't lie."

"You don't think it's, weird?" Daisy felt a little subconscious, she'd never used any of her abilities in front of a human before, still, Jacob persisted to make her comfortable, she could tell in th way he smiled at her.

"N-No... well, yeah a little, but it's cute I guess, in a very dark, twisted kind of way."

Daisy bit her lip, trying not to betray the workings of her mind "You mean it?" She smiled, Jacob grinned nodding so quickly and enthusiastically that his fro whipped back and forth.

She felt her face relax a little, blinking away the bloodlust in her left eye with sudden ease, the sun would be up soon and Jacob... made her chest flutter.

Feeling cheerful, Daisy clicked her fingers at Mr copper "Come along now, You can hide under my scarf." She grinned as Mr Copper happily slithered up her leg, climbing around her waist before spiralling around her neck, rustling deep under her mass of furry white scarf.

She looked to Jacob, extending an arm "I-It's rude to not escort a lady across town, where I'm from."

Jacob smiled, walking towards her before pausing, watching her scarf shimmer "He isn't going to bite me is he, cuz having you suck the venom out of me would be very embarrassing..." Both of them reddened as they realised what He just said "I don't mean-well not that I wouldn't like you too-Sorry."

Daisy brushed her crimson cheeks, moving over to wrap her gentle hands around his arm "Come on, smooth talker, were burning nightlight." she said, trying to contain her flushing smile as they set off into the City proper, arm in arm.
