Roi doesn't know and before she can find out, she is interrupted by a familiar face

The night parade was so densely populated, it felt like every resident of the town and maybe a good portion of the travelers were blocking Roi's way in her attempts to catch up with her sister. "Bollocks," Roi swore, having completely lost track of her sister... who knew what sort of mischief she'd get up to without a sibling around to watch her? "At least it ought to be easy enough to ask after her. 'You there, have you seen me wandering around anywhere?'" she joked. Another bad side effect of being used to being joined at the hip with one's sibling: Roi was prone to talk to herself, even when no one was listening.

The girl sullenly crossed her arms, missing the presence of the sash she'd had taken earlier as she walked about, still finding herself the most modestly-dressed person at this parade. Still, without the others, she was a real fish out of water. As a proud knight, she was game for whatever strange rules and regulations the Knightly Order came up with... but that didn't mean it was easy for her to flip the switch and become a party girl. Her idea of a good time was sword training in the yard... or a good night's sleep. She was pretty fond of that. Judging by the presence of so many people out at this hour, she thought she might be the only one.

Roi tried to find the least offensively sexual place she could to sit down, partially out of sanitary concerns for whoever else might have been in the seat before her, and settled on a long, log bench. It was already occupied by one other, but she wasn't going to get lucky enough to find a single seat in this madhouse of a festival. As she leaned her head on her fist, casually searching around the crowd for any sign of her sister, her eye's met with a pair of striking green ones she'd encountered not so long ago. "Oh, it's you."

"Roy Wulder!" the other girl responded, standing up to her feet and pressing one hand to her chest before continuing. Redressed in her fabulous white finery and (seemingly) all of the rest, Guyld St. Vendigeld IV put on a challenging smirk, as though she hadn't just been defeated maybe a little under an hour ago by the knights. "It is I, Guyld St. Vendigeld IV!"

"Ro-ee" Roi verbalized, looking impatient.

"Y-Yes, that's what I said!" the noble girl contended, squeezing back into her seat quickly as she spotted someone else eyeing it. "You've got a lot of gall, challenging me to this sort of contest, but I eagerly accept!"

"Guyld, I hate to break it to you, but not everything is a contest. I am simply resting a moment before I resume looking for my sister," Roi sighed, causing the other girl to bristle.

"Then why sit here?! This is the Merridan History Trivia Competition!" Guyld complained, brushing her hair away from her face as it threatened to displace and make her look more frazzled than she already felt.

"Are you serious? A Trivia Competition?" Roi questioned, looking genuinely surprised.

"Oh ho ho ho! Yeees, Ro-ee Wulder!" Guyld giggled, putting on a cocky smile as she leaned in closer on the stool... before deciding that was a bit too close and retracting to her previous position, reddening just a bit. "Ahem. Yes, I've come to ruin your Knight's Parade just like you ruined my dancing debut!"

"Hey, I assisted you in your strip show!" Roi protested, feeling irked. "Besides, this isn't my parade!"

Guyld shrank back for a moment, then corrected herself, readopting her smile. "Y-Yes, well, perhaps if you'd done a little more, I might have won! But that's neither here nor there!" she continued, hushing Roi before she had a chance to argue further. "It may not be your parade specifically, but I know you're a knight hopeful. It will be very embarrassing for you when I, a proud patron of the church, win at this trivia game!"

"... Did you pick trivia just because you thought it was the least embarrassing thing to play here at the parade?" the other girl questioned, smiling in a bemused way.

"N-No! I am a young intellectual who is very confident in my knowledge of Merridan History!!" she ensured her opponent. "And unless you're admitting to being as stupid as I picture all knights, you'll join me in this contest!"

Roi put on a contemplative frown and watched as the officiator, a man with a barrel chest and a thick, curling mustache, dressed in red and green overalls with no shirt beneath, took his spot in front of the table. This was her last chance to escape if she wanted to... then again, as a knight (or soon-to-be knight), she couldn't just let Guyld badmouth the knights and get away with it. Maybe it would be best if she knocked Guyld down another peg? Besides... she felt like the girl's eyes were shining expectantly, despite her words. Guyld probably didn't want to be alone at the parade...
